Spielbergs Give to Gay Marriage

Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw have donated $100,000 to the campaign to defeat a proposal that would ban gay marriage in California, according to Variety.

Brad Pit donated the same amount last week to help opponents of the proposed ban known as "Proposition 8."

"By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation," the couple said in a statement to Variety. "Such discrimination has NO place in California's constitution, or any other."
