Las Vegas, cupcakes and Avril, oh my!

Avril Lavigne celebrated with The Palms owner George Maloof - and a cupcake from The Cupcakery! - at Moon nightclub in Las Vegas after her sold-out show Tuesday night at The Pearl Concert Theatre. After 90 minutes of singing, unfortch, Avril lost her voice! She even let us know by writing it on her hand: "I can't talk - lost voice."

We hear you had to postpone your concert in SD tonight... get better, Avril, you don't wanna disappoint your fans!

Our photographers spotted Fall Out Boy bassist (and soon-to-be daddy) Pete Wentz refueling his SUV earlier today. Jeez, Pete - if you need gas, all you have to do is give Ashlee's big sister a call!

So, there might be an Angelina Jolie drug tape floating around somewhere - yeah, big surprise!

The National Enquirer reports that the tape, which "appears to be from the 1990's, right before Angelina - then in her 20s - was breaking out in films," shows our beloved Angie doing heroin. The Oscar-winner has admitted to using hard drugs in the past, but if the tape does indeed exist, actually seeing her do it might damage her reformed reputation.

Oh, and what does Angelina say in the alleged vid? "Wow, this is really good smack - not that cheap crap that's been stepped on."

Damn, girl! Does she kiss her kids with that mouth?

The Enquirer source claims the tape's owner is seeking $70,000 - hell, I'm sure it's worth more than that! Think it really exists?

With the status of her relationship to Mario Lopez currently under heavy scrutiny, it's nice to see that Karina Smirnoff still has a stress-free relationship with at least one Mario - Mario Barrett, her partner on DWTS!

We spotted the dancing duo leaving Nobu - separately, of course. Both Mario and Karina were more than happy to stop and speak to the paps about the show, giving their thoughts on the elimination process and the most recent batch of folks given the boot from the show before heading off for a late-night practice session.

Surprisingly, the subject of Mario Lopez never came up once, although Barrett vehemently denied any relationship between himself and Karina when a photog brought up the subject. (Then again, if we knew we might get beaten up by Mario Lopez over our answer to the question, we'd be pretty emphatic too!)

Looks like everyone's suspicions about Mariah Carey's ring were for real - Access Hollywood is reporting that the singer and boyfriend Nick Cannon have gotten engaged!

The news was confirmed by a source close to Carey. The marriage will be Cannon's first and Carey's second.

Calls to Carey's reps were not returned in time for publication. Nick's publicist, however, just shot us an email claiming "no comment" - hmmmm!

John Mayer happily tells In Touch Weekly that "his weekend was good" - his weekend, that is, with Jennifer Aniston in Miami!

The two spent four days with each other, dining out at restaurants for long hours where onlookers say John was "very attentive to her," shopping arm in arm in town and spending time by the pool at Jen's hotel, the Mandarin Oriental. All the while, eyewitnesses note that the couple "were in their own little world. They couldn't stop looking at each other."

Can this really be happening? Jen's had her heart broken in the past and John's a bit of a player... think these two are right for each other?

Isn't it great to see Britney up so early and already hard at work? She's really giving her all!

Last night was date night for Paris and Nicky Hilton, who dragged their respective S.O.'s Benji Madden and David Katzenberg out to dinner at Benihana's and a movie at the Grove. But dinner wasn't the only Eastern flair the two couples spent the evening enjoying - Nicky was looking fine in a t-shirt from the Japanese fashion line Hysteric Glamour!

Could the Hiltons be turning Japanese? I really think so!

With just a few months left in her pregnancy, details about Jamie Lynn Spears' first child are starting to slip out - like the fact that it's gonna be a girl!

Life & Style spoke to someone who claims to have overheard Lynne Spears discussing her baby's baby. According to the witness, Lynn was talking about how "Jamie Lynn and [Casey] were so excited when they found out it's a girl!"

The witness went on to reveal that although Casey's still "a bit nervous about having a daughter", Jamie Lynn was thrilled by the news and has already gotten to work picking out names. The teen queen might be passing on more than just her family name, too - she's apparently made a list of the names of all the girls on both sides of the Spears family and wants to incorporate one of them as her daughter's middle name!

(And naturally, Jamie Lynn made sure to include her mother's name for consideration - according to the witness, Lynne is "flattered" by her daughter's thoughtfulness!)

L&S also revealed that Jamie Lynn's been spending up a storm to get ready for her daughter's arrival, speaking to a Spears family insider who claims she's been buying "tons of clothes" and has plans to do her nursery in black, white, and yellow. She better hurry up, though - that same insider says the baby's due on June 29th!

Could there be trouble in Xenudise? The Star is reporting that, at Tom Cruise's insistence, Katie Holmes recently spent a few days in the desert at a compound for hardcore Scientologists!

The mag alleges that Katie spent three days in Hemet, California at Gold Base, a "remote, supersecret Scientology compound", where she underwent rigorous auditing sessions and intensive purification processes. The Star even claims that some sessions went as long as 36 hours straight - with little in the way of food or sleep!

"It included various tests, confession sessions, tons of reading and physically challenging purification processes," a Scientology insider revealed to the Star. "Tom insists that auditing and purification practices are incredibly beneficial to Scientologists at all levels."

Calls to Holmes' rep for a comment on the Star's report were not immediately returned.

Hopefully this news doesn't turn out to be true - I mean, 36 straight hours of auditing?

No, really - yesterday, we caught the dynamic duo hitting up the Filth Mart for some vintage threads! Unfortunately, all that shopping must have left them exhausted; they barely even acknowledged the paps hanging around outside. Ah well - maybe next time?

Although we'd never doubt their affection for each other, we still kinda think that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden make for a crazy pair - just look at the way they shop!

Yesterday, we caught Nicole and Joel stopping by the DCMA Collective to do a little shopping. DCMA is, of course, owned in part by Joel, but still - does Nicole strike you as the kind of girl to go for skater chic?

Yeah, us either - which was why we were tickled pink to see the diminutive diva drag Joel over to Diane Von Furstenberg to look for something for herself! Now that's the Nicole we know!
