I absolutely agree. I have always felt that Miss Amy was a fraud on certain levels. She strikes me as being a wanna-be druggie, as in she likes being known as a strung out artist. She tries really hard to impress those who care to be impressed by tattoos and filthy cloths; its as if she wants to be the bad girl, because being good is uncool.

She went from chunky monkey to toothpick in no time flat and everyone thought she had an eating disoder, but it was so obviously from drug use it was laughable. Not laughable that she is a doper, but laugable that she strived to be a doper and wants to impress that image on people. When people defend her, it's because they are star-struck; if you saw her on the street, and she wasn't a known individual, you would probably call her a junkie and hold tight to your purse; because she is Amy Winehouse, we fawn admiration on her, which is sickening. Amy wants to be the cool heroin addict because in her sick mind, heroin addiction is romantic. But on a whole other level, she is playing a role, presenting a facade to the world. She's afraid to be who she really is because the cool kids in class might not like her. So sad.

Thera, everyone is wired differently ~ your post is unfair ~ you have no idea if addiction runs in her family and as we all know it is inherited. She is amazingly talented & I hope she cleans herself up & gets it together. She's another one that needs to call her Mom. Her & Brit def. If you're creative you use creativity to help you through the rough times. It is not unbelievable at all that she would write the majority of an album during a trying time, it is only TOO believable. I consider myself a creative person, and be damned if I can't write a thing when I'm happy. All the good stuff comes out of misery. Creative people are also prone to having substance abuse issues. She's not faking it, she is a victim of her own self.

I completely agree with Thera. That's also how I viewed Lindsay...I cringed when Lindsay first admitted to a couple of photographers on the street that she was "going to AA meetings".
I just don't buy it. If you're going to AA meetings, it's because you're ashamed...you're close to losing everything and it's your last option. Lindsay was definitely not feeling that way about it...she liked being seen as cool and tragic.

Thera doesn't know what it is like to be an addict, it is as far from romantic as you can get. It isn't fun, or glamorous, and if Amy ever thought so she gave that idea up pretty quick once getting into the scene. It's a cold cruel life to live, one filled with real pain and real loss. You can only see it as 'romantic' from the outside, and Amy is far from the outside. Faking, yeah, right.

She had a very clean image not too long ago, she had no tattoos no heavy makeup- compared to now.... I just think shes confused about her "identity". I don't think she is a fraud.

Pete Doherty, though not "of her people," is a huge faker as well. He's been known to spray fake blood on the walls and trash his room before an interview. But I think for him what started as a joke became real.

Amy was out delusional, incoherent, half-clothed at 5 AM consistent with Boost drug poisoning. Her scratching presents as what is called "blood itch" with repeated heroin withdrawal. Threat to life and reduced participation are certain, up to 10 days ago with Mitchell Winehouse getting competent assistance for her, leading either to MCA-2005 sectioning or Israeli rehab. "Fake" ain't the word for this situation. Not at all.

I think certain aspects about her are false,but the whole drug thing i believe is true.i dont know if most of yall have read her lyrics but in what she describes and how she describes about her drug addiction its just too real,you cant make some shit up.And also she dont try to make her lyrics catchy or poppy,honestly they dont make since and have a same way about em as kurt cobains.its the music part,the voice the instruments that make it catchyi dont know.we all have our own opinions.
