No. The movie was ok but a bit tedious. After watching the real Marianne Pearl, who is so unique, I think they made a mistake in casting such a controversial actress. I also think the timing of the movie smacked of the studio capitalizing on the tragedy. Angelina was not a believeable Marianne. That said, the movie was probably a B- . Not horrible, but I wouldn't recommend spending the bucks in a theatre. It's rentable.

What a ridiculous excuse!Even less people went to see or even heard about 'La Vie En Rose'which starred Marion Cotillard who got nominated or 'Away from Her' with Julie Christie, also a nominee.Both are INCREDIBLE performances.Even Cate Blanchett got nominated for 'Elizabeth' and that was one of the years biggest flop.But i guess none of you folks care because none of those films have Jolie in them She gave a blank-faced, appearance rather than a performance because thats all she can do.She can't act, her talent is looking phenomenal in a variety of choreographed poses in front of a camera.Thats it.Just because she screamed on camera, does not an oscar win..

No. I don't believe she should be considered for an award in that performance. Compared to someone like Cate Blanchett, she's an amateur. Angelinga hasn't really shown much growth as an actress, and maybe b/c there's an actual Marianne Pearl, I was expecting more of the actress who played her... You know, when Jamie Foxx played Ray Charles, you lost Jamie Foxx; same with Reece Witherspoon's June Carter Cash. Keira Knightley, on the other hand, DID deserve consideration. Her performance was right-on...that's okay next time for her.

Angelina Jolie did a HORRIBLE job in "A Mighty Heart." The casting director should be fired. Ang never was and never will be a great actress. She could do well in lesbian porn, but that's about it. That movie would have won if Ang was not involved. She can't act. Get real.

Why was Angelina snubbed?? Well I will not judge her performance cuz I didn't see the movie, but the critic from Us weekly is cluless. Seriously box office had nothing to do with it. Marion, Julie and even Laura were nominated for movies that were flops. How does he explain that???
Also Both Marion and Julie's movies came out BEFORE Angelina's so the "fall movies theory" is also wrong. This was actually a very weak race, I mean they nominated Cate for a repeating performance in a movie that was panned by the critics.
About knightly getting snubbed, as much as I liked Atonement she didn't have enough screen time for going lead. IMO everybody was supporting in that film.

I agree that you should have been able to loose yourself in her portrayal of Marianne Pearl and just you didn't. It also did seem to soon after the death of Daniel Pearl for this movie. They should have found a little known actress. This really should have been a great movie and it wasn't.

I saw the movie and I think Jolie did not deserve to be nominated for the Oscars. I am sorry to upset all Angelina fans out there, but Kate Blanchett and Julie Christie are from a whole different league. These ladies are one of the FINEST actresses in the world and have real talent for acting (something that I cannot say about Angelina). Great performance by Jolie. I wouldn't mind being snubbed by the Academy. Kubrick, Montgomery Clift, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant never received Oscars.

I think it is great that she did not get nominated. This was a pet project hand picked by Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt to be worked on by their Plan B production company. Not only did Angie go after Brad, she also was very vocal in wanting to do this project because she knew it would bother Jennifer Anision. When Jenn and Brad split the company, he took the rights they had acquired from the book, and gave the role to Angie. The votes for the oscars are cast by their peers in the movie industry, so I think it speaks volumes that she is not well thought of enough to even get a nomination. Everyone knows what she is.

The movie was soooo slow and boring and it should have been great given the material. Her accent was horrible and seemed to change throughout the movie. i'm not a huge fan of her's but i had high expectations for this movie and her performance and i was very dissapointed. Her best acting was done in Gia.
