When Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas stopped off for a romantic lunch at celeb-haunt Matsuhisa yesterday, they cut the date short, leaving after only about 20 minutes.

Did they intend on getting take-out? Or was it the uncomfortable confrontation with Melanie’s ex, Don Johnson (who was also dining there at the same time) that drove them away?

Antonio Banderas lost his father to a long illness this weekend in the Spanish coastal town of Marbella.

Antonio spent the last several months taking care of his sick father, José Dominguez Prieto, who passed away at the age of 87.

Antonio was joined in Marbella at the cemetery with his wife, Melanie, and their daughter, Stella, as well as Antonio's mother and brother.

Our hearts go out to Antonio and the Banderas/Prieto family during this difficult time.

Aspen's a pretty small and exclusive town, so it's no surprise that we'd see half of Hollywood hittin' the slopes, but with Melanie Griffith, ex Don Johnson and current Antonio Banderas all in town at the same time, that could get a little awkward!

The cast of Shrek (including exes Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz) were reunited at the premiere of their film, Shrek The Third, yesterday in Westwood! Cast members Eddie Murphy (who has yet to be reunited with his supposed Scary baby), Mike Myers and Antonio Banderas (with wife Melanie Griffith) were there to support the film as well!

Antonio Banderas is successful, sexy and generous! We spotted this hot Spaniard departing from Mr. Chow just as a woman requesting a financial pick-me-up approached the handsome hunk. As he gave graciously to the needy - we got an update on what’s new with the Banderas bunch.

Antonio Banderas was looking pretty gaunt when we bumped into him yesterday outside Barney's. Let's hope he was stopping off for a bite at Barney's Greengrass rather than to shop!

Apparently not every celeb got the memo that Ed Hardy's became the newest outlet for haute couture while they were away - yesterday we spotted Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Antonio Banderas, and Maggie Gyllenhaal stopping by Barney's! (That's not to say that you can't get some cute clothes at Barney's - just ask Britney Spears, y'all!)

Aspen, Colorado seemed to be the Winter destination of choice for the rich, famous, and fabulous! Despite (or maybe because of) the fact that her ex and his new Mrs. were in town, Mariah looked like she was having a great time! Seal and Heidi brought the whole family, Thalia smiled through her pain, Jack just smiled, Antonio did some last minute shopping, Nicolette modeled her interesting fashion choices w/fiance Michael Bolton in the snow and Chris O'Donnell spent some quality time with the fam.

Somehow I doubt Antonio wears this shirt out too much when he's home in Spain - after all, it's much safer to wear it to a place like Mr. Chow's where the danger of encountering bulls is pretty low! (The danger of encountering Hollywood bullshit, on the other hand...)
