Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are gonna tie the knot, y'all!

The couple announced the news on friendsorenemies.com, at least that's what everyone's reporting.

I see a post by someone who's NOT Pete or Ashlee that reads this way:

THIS JUST IN FROM ASHLEE SIMPSON "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us." - Ashlee and Pete

So I guess it's a done deal?! I'm not sure I'd believe it if we didn't have the first pix of the engagement ring, taken on Saturday night at Beso -- so congratulations are in order -- mazel tov, Mr. & Mrs. Wentz!
