She probably had an ultrasound. Im guessing this due to the large water bottle. Doctors recommend you have a full bladder before receiving an ultrasound, so Im betting she knows the sex of the baby.. And between ultrasounds and any type of lab tests, the appointment could run that long.

More than likely, either a glucose [4 hour] retake for failing the first. If she got the glucose she's between 24-28 weeks pregnant, and I'm pretty sure she's farther along than that. Or she was hooked up to monitors for a stress test/ early contractions which sounds more likely. Ultrasounds don't take that long, and I'm sure they already know the gender of the baby.

I know why it took four hours. They have to call in one of those psyciatrists that talk people out of jumping off of bridges in to talk that baby into coming out after it learned who its mommy is.

Well really it is long but it all depends on the situation and if they were performing any tests on the baby which is usual. On the other hand the doctor may have been behind schedule which I had encounted many times pregnant with my two sons. So like I say yes it was long but no due to the fact that I've been there that long many times.

I think that long visit had something to do with the fact that Ashlee is coming to Mississauga (just west of Toronto) on Sunday. She was probably taking extra precautions before she leaves the country.

anything that ashlee did in the past is over. that was then this is now and right now she is focusing on being a mommy! :D so please can we all try and be just a little nicer to these celebrities. we don't know them the things we do are from either their reality shows which show us the real person behind the celebrity and on the other hand we know what we hear about in either the tabloids or gossip sites and these so called "insiders" or "someone close to (insert celebrity name here)" and how many of these sources are true every so often they hit on a piece of seemingly truthful gossip (like ashlee simpson being pregnant)at least we have one truthful magazine PEOPLE Magazine (it is so trustwothy that it does not deserve to be lowered to the level of some of those tabloids that print crap(sometimes truthful crap)) (thats right I put parenthesis inside parenthesis hahahahahaha!) once PEOPLE Magazine prints a story it is almost like that celebrity is confirming it it's hopeless once people magazine runs a story on something because it goes from rumor to fact! because they check their facts so that they can make sure they don't get sued for printing something damaging to a celeb's reputation which is why people (no pun intended) knew that ashlee simpson was in fact pregnant it was all over with denying it after they put that on the front cover of their april28,2008 issue (that's right I kept the magazine there's nothing wrong with having a extensive tabloid magazine collection infact I have magazines dating back to july2,2007 hehe!)it seems from what people say on here (when they are not saying rude things about everyone) that four hours is normal for a prenatal checkup I wouldn't know cause I'm 15(and I'm still more mature than alot of people on here) and my thoughts on the whole ashlee being escorted to her car by a nurse is
1.paparazzi, she may have needed someone to defend them (her & the baby)from the paparazzi
2. maybe the nurse offered to escort her (for her safety)
3.safety from any nutjobs (because it is a underground parking lot and she is a celebrity)
so my conclusion is that the nurse escoring her was mainly for safety for what I am not sure of but I'm pretty sure it WAS for her & baby's safety.
and please just let ashlee simpson have a healthy pregnancy and just let her live her WONDERFUL life with her husband and soon-to-be first born (so excited!!!) leave ashlee and pete alone (unless you have compliments or anything NICE to say)so just please, I beg of thee!
