What's In A Name?
Ashlee and Pete Wentz' wedding may have been one of the most unorthodox ceremonies in marital history - heck, it's been over a week and Ashlee's only just now getting around to changing her name!
People reports that the pop princess will be ditching her family name in favor of Pete's, and will hereafter be known as Ashlee Wentz - in private, of course. Professionally, the singer will go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
"I think that that's something that a woman should do when they're marrying a man," Ash told the mag. "It's a tradition that I think is a great tradition."
Oddly enough, Pete doesn't seem to share her insistence on traditional values, claiming he left the decision "completely up to Ashlee". Not that he wasn't flattered, of course - People reports that the bassist lit up when the topic came up, exclaiming "Oh man, I was like upgrade me! The Wentz family, our Christmas card just got upgraded!"
"It feels insane," Wentz said. "It feels unreal."
Don't worry, Pete - you've got the whole rest of your lives to get accustomed to it!
Those crazy kids seem so happy together - no matter which name they use!
