Brad Backs Out!

BPITT092307_01.jpgYesterday we heard the story of Catherine Zeta-Jones walking away from a role in Nine over script concerns - and now it looks like Brad Pitt's following her example! The Daily Mail is reporting that Pitt has left the cast of State of Play, an adaptation of the hit BBC series of the same name. Apparently, Brad had grown angry over the film straying from his original vision, and ultimately quit after being unable to resolve his differences with director Kevin MacDonald due to the current writers' strike. Hopefully Brad didn't burn any bridges backing away from the project - the Daily Mail is quick to point out that if Universal Studios can't find a replacement for Brad, they've got the option of suing him!



The studio's already talking about replacements for Brad, with the current front-runners being Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe. Any of our British readers ever seen State of Play? How would either of those two work out in Brad's role as Cal McCaffrey?

They should be happy he dropped out because the guy is a horrible actor. If they wanted Brad first maybe Johnny Depp is too good for this role.

Brad is very great man, I like him so much. I saw that he is in the top 50 men list of askmen.com. He should be the TOP1 in my mind. And i heard that he appeared on a millionaire&celes dating club MeetRich.com with a personal account there. Is it real or just a rumor on internet?

I hope Ed Norton doesn't drop out too. I love Ed. This doesn't seem like the type of film Johnny want would do. The plot is very cliche. Brad's choice of roles have been a little disappointing lately.

Brad isn't as great an actor as he thinks he is and his ideas haven't seemed real great lately. Johnny
Depp would do a much better job.
He really should get sued for waiting

They should get a better actor for the part. This movie has a great cast and now that Brad is not part of it, I might go see it. I really can't stand Brad, he thinks he is better than every actor out there. I hope Universal sues him, but at the same time I want them to get a good replacement so that the movie could go on.

All movies go through rewrites throughout the process. Without writers the movie will be stagnant and senseless. It wouldn't be smart to start any movie at this time otherwise you're stuck with what's already on the page.
