With all the stars in New York at the Met's Costume Gala, you might have expected LA's clubs to be empty - but you'd have been wrong, wrong, wrong!

STK, for instance, played host to both Shannon Elizabeth and Mel B! Looks like Mel's dinner went well - she was even gracious enough to plant one on her hubby Steven Belafonte for the cameras!

Elsewhere, we spotted Jesse McCartney, Perry Farrell, Esai Morales, Joel Madden, Evan Ross, Derek Huff, and Whitney Port - whew! We're more out of breath than Brandon Davis after he ran away at full speed from our black cameraman!

We also bumped into David Spade, who took the time to add his voice to the chorus of opinions about Miley Cyrus' Vanity Fair photos. Still, we gotta say that David has a point - Miley does seem rich!

Is that Brandon Davis - the Brandon Davis - looking thin, dapper and well-behaved?

We spotted notorious potty-mouth Brandon Davis planted on a curb, yakking away on his cell phone. Think he might have been calling his old pal Dallas Austin? Brandon certainly owes him some gratitude after the defense Dallas raised on his behalf Friday night!

After his racist, homophobic outburst(s) Thursday night, it's a little surprising to see Brandon Davis out in the company of a member of any minority - much less superproducer Dallas Austin!

We caught up with the odd couple at Villa last night; they entered separately but left in the same SUV. Austin vigorously defended his friend, claiming that Brandon "doesn't hate" people of color and chiding folks for judging Davis on the basis of his words. Brandon was pretty lucky Dallas was there to go to bat for him, too - an onlooker took the opportunity to take him to task for his words the night before!

Davis found himself being jeered by a pedestrian, who dared the oil heir to repeat his hate speech in a more appropriate location - like South Central! Brandon, however, was having none of it, silently flipping the guy off from the safety of his car and leaving Dallas to defend him. Aw, what's the matter - cat got your tongue?

After Brandon and Dallas departed, the guy proceeded to address the paps, publicly offering the oil heir twenty thousand dollars to drop the n-bomb in a housing project. Think Brandon'll take him up on his offer?

To say that Brandon Davis made an ass of himself at Foxtail would be an understatement - he practically threw every epithet in the book at our photographer last night!

Worse, Brandon had actually been provoking the paps from the first moment he saw 'em, allegedly insulting one of our photographers' sweatshirts and spewing racist language at a black cameraman on our photog's team. By the time Davis took off, however, he'd graduated to the worst swears in the dictionary - he actually dropped both the n-word and the f-word on camera!

Then again, maybe we shouldn't be too surprised - after all, Brandon does have a history of shooting his mouth off!

If Brandon Davis was really cut off by his super-rich oil magnate family for shaming them, then how's he got the dough to lunch at a chic restaurant and shop at Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton???

As we all learned from Mean Girls, "frenemies" are enemies who act like friends and "fraitors" are friends who secretly hate you. Of course, this kind of drama doesn't just exist in movies - it's very much present in young Hollywood!

For our first example, look at Lindsay Lohan (star of MG) and her BFF Samantha Ronson. But has Sam always been a good influence on Linds? At least she's helping LiLo with her new album now... our favorite rehabber doesn't need anymore toxic people in her life!

Speaking of which, there's Brandon Davis - ya know, the one who launched the "firecrotch" tirade against the 21-year-old starlet. Heiress Paris Hilton used to be best buddies with this dude, but we're glad that's over with because Paris is better off without him!

And don't forget about the Brits! Rocker Pete Doherty has certainly influenced - at least to some degree - the hard-partying ways of ex Kate Moss and pal Amy Winehouse. Think these gals are better off on their own?

Finally, there's our beloved reality stars. With the return of The Hills, we can definitely expect to see more Lauren/Heidi/Spencer drama... but what's real and what's fake?

Guess that's the point - sometimes, you never can tell!

What with her jet-setting ways, Paris Hilton has to pack in quality time in with her friends whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Luckily, the hotel heiress didn't have any problems rounding up a gang of her closest pals to accompany her to Hyde and Villa last night - we saw her kickin' it with Kim Stewart, Elliot Mintz, and even her old pal Brandon Davis!

It seems like forever since we've seen Paris and Brandon out on the town together - but then again, maybe that's just because they've both done so much growing up lately!

Page Six reports that even stylists at the Frederic Fekkai Salon don't dare touch the "oily grunginess" that is Brandon Davis' hair... and we don't blame them! Mischa Barton's ex (what was she thinking?) paid a late night visit this weekend for a trim and the frightened employees all donned rubber gloves. "He [Davis] was really out of it, sweating profusely. His eyes were half shut and he was asking for carrot juice, even after they told him they only had orange juice," adds a source.

Let the Halloween costume hunt begin! After the stress of the last couple days, Britney Spears decided to blow off some steam (and celebrate her would-be wedding anniversary?) by hitting up Hollywood hotspots with Avril Lavigne!!!

Britney arrived at Winston's at 11:30 with some other new friends, but an X17 inside source says once inside, Britney met up with Avril, cousin Alli Sims and Brandon Davis. After staying only about an hour, Britney and crew left, taking the party over to Hyde. According to our insider, Britney looked a bit down at the club; apparently even when the DJ played her new song, the pop princess never really perked up. Britney left about an hour later, headed for home. But on the way home, she decided to stop for some help, from the Beverly Hills Cops -- and Madonna! "Like a Prayer" was blasting out of Brit's car as she chatted with one of the police officers, who eventually provided an escort for her home.

After Brandon Davis' birthday dinner at Mr. Chow, Paris cranked her stereo and took off down the street, leaving Brandon Davis running after her! The heiress never stopped, but they met up later at Les Deux...along with Paris' ex, Stavros!! That's the second time in one week! Are they back together?

Paris may have ditched the hills of Hollywood for the beach of Malibu, but last night Paris was back in her old hood and up to her old tricks. She started the night out at Opera with Nicky and David Katzenberg, before heading over to the Green Door to meet up with Brandon Davis. Then, the group hopped over to IHop for some late-night munchies.

Looks like Brandon Davis won't let a little thing like a bloody eye keep him from hittin' the clubs. Wonder what the other guy looks like?
