My firstborn was born near the Arctic Circle and the doctor said, take him anywhere just don't go for walks unless it's above 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Yes. Back in the early to mid 1900's. But this is 2007! We stayed in the hospital for a week after a normal birth. We also sterilized baby bottles/milk every single day! And we would not take a baby out if it had not been baptized yet. Thank god it's 2007!!
