a goal in Brit's therapy will be to wide her social circle and support system "in her community"..including reclaiming some old friendships and retaining some new ones...but learning to know which people are positive to her...to her..not anyone else. Part of her recovery WILL be predominantly learning to control her own life...and to recognize when her life is starting to get out of control. This conservatorship will last not one more day than necessary; as the doctor's know that part of reclaiming mental health is reclaiming financial responsibility as well. Bipolar people have bipolar crisis...but with treatment they manage their lives just like anyone else with diabetes or other health issues.

Have YOU ever talked to a patient in a hospital and yet somehow not been told when visiting hours are, if you say you want to drop by?

More to the point, no competent doctor would EVER allow persons who exacerbate a patient's condition to be allowed any where NEAR them during the crucial first days of their treatment
- ESPECIALLY if they were not family
- ESPECIALLY if they'd been so publically linked to their destructive behavior
- ESPECIALLY if they are KNOWN to be hustlers.

Brit is now in the care of VERY competent doctors, and you can BET that not only will he NOT be allowed to visit without the family's permission, he is NOT talking to her on the phone / texting her, etc.
