I don't live in California, but I was wondering if enough people petitioned California Child Services (or whatever the regulatory agency is called there), would they start a real investigation? Maybe it is time to take this from idle conversation to actually doing something to protect those boys. Just something for those of you who live there to think about.

Re: CPS - Though I agree she is by no means a 'fit' parent (double entendre there), there are children a lot worse off than these two. At least it looks like they are being fed, they're probably not being tortured or selled as sex objects so mommy can get high. (I'm sure she can bankroll that). So while I think she is probably quite neglectful and incapable of taking care of anyone (including herself) - asking CPS to launch an investigation into this would unfortunately take time away from cases with more urgency and children in more dire circumstances.
