I love these comments about how "other" people, i.e. "normal" people would have lost their kids by now. That is simply not true. Do you have any idea what it takes to have a child removed from a home? THOUSANDS of children being neglected and abused are unsafe in their OWN homes every single day without a rescue. Even when OSC or other agencies are alerted to problems, most of the time the children stay in their homes. Look at the case of the 13 year old that shot her abusive father in the head. Social workers had been out to see the home and environment (which was a nightmare) and nothing was done.
