First a meltdown, then a blowout.

After finally returning to her Studio City home from her forced hospitalization, Britney Spears ventured out in her car Monday evening, only to end up with a flat tire.

Driving her white Mercedes and accompanied by her assistant, Spears, 26, popped a tire in Brentwood after visiting a drug store.

With the paparazzi on her tail, she continued to drive with the flat a few miles down the road without her lights on, and even passed by a gas station.

The singer's flat caused mayhem for the LA traffic. On her way back to her house, Spears pulled over and was met by police officers who allowed her to abandon her vehicle on the side of the road.

Spears was given a ride away from the scene – not by the police, but by photographers who had been trailing her.

Back from her escapade with photographer Adnan Ghalib and not seen out in LA since before her hospital horror show, poptastrophe Britney Spears was spotted driving around Los Angeles with her assistant Karla on Monday evening around 6:15 pm.

After a quick pitstop at Starbucks and an hour of driving with a flat tire, Spears and company caused a gridlock situation at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and the 405 Freeway when they abandoned the white Mercedes.

Police quickly arrived on the scene to handle the situation. Of Britney, a witness tells OK!, "She was dressed like a movie star and looking pretty good."

Instead of waiting for tow trucks, Britney found comfort with a new photographer and hopped into a paparazzi named Fabrizio's car and drove around with him for a bit.

The duo headed to Britney's home at the Summit where they were greeted outside the gates by another group of police who were keeping the paparazzi in order. There for about 10 minutes, Britney exited the premise and headed to the Four Seasons in not one of her many fab cars, but her assistant's Toyota.

Despite the fact that Brit Brit was banned from the luxurious hotel after her birthday weekend in the beginning of December, she headed there anyway without her man du jour. It is unclear at this time whether he is meeting Britney there or that was the end of his Spears experience.

Usmagazine.com was there as an irritated and upset looking Spears, with a convoy of paparazzi following, suffered a flat right front tire while driving in Brentwood. After driving for over two miles on the flat, Spears pulled the car to a stop and abandoned the vehicle amid rush-hour traffic. LAPD spokesperson Mike Lopez says Britney’s car was impounded because it was “blocking the roadway.”

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, Spears and her assistant then hopped into a car driven by a trailing paparazzo, who drove Spears back to her Beverly Hills home. Within minutes, Spears left in another car and headed to the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills.

An employee at Quicksilver Towing confirmed to Us that they have impounded her vehicle and will bill Spears a $104 towing fee, plus $32 for every day it remains in their yard. Should Spears not pick up her vehicle within thirty days, it will be put up for public auction.

If the paps really "left Britney alone" like you say they should, she'd have been walking home on the freeway last night and almost certainly been hit by a car.

They also convinced her to pull over in the first place...she was going to drive on the rim ALL the way home. She certainly didn't care about the THOUSANDS of people whose schedules she was effing up by driving 5mph on one of the world's busiest and most crowded highways.

Face it- Britney loves the paps. She believes they are her "friends"- she invites them in her home, lets them pay for all her petty little "errands" like Starbucks and Taco Bell and gas for her car...oh, and lighters she STEALS, too.

The paps could have had some of the blame at one time...but by continuing to TELL them where she'll be and even after saying she was "too scared of the paps" to go to her deposition actually SLEEPING with a married one...she has proven that this is ALL her. Not them.
