I'm thinking this is what causes stuff like personality disorders in child stars - they're robbed of the chance to be normal kids, to go through the normal stages of life.

...I'm no expert by any means, but from what I've read, alot of mental illnesses can be caused by stuff like childhood abuse, whether it's sexual, physical or psychological. And I could imagine how a child star like Britney could feel as if she was being psychologically abused (in a sense) because she lacked control over her own life.
