Showbiz for children can be harmful if not handled well. However, mental illness is not a direct result of being in show business (even though I think a lot of actors are just nuts).

Stress, though, can exacerbate mental and emotional problems. Stress can bring out latent mental problems, cause symptoms to be exhibited.

Britney had some showbiz stress, I'm sure. However, I think the stress of her marriage, two babies very close together, a nasty end to that marriage, and horrific custody case has sealed the deal for her.

So ordinary life can be extremely stressful, as many of us know, probably worse than show business.

I was reading a website about bipolar disorder earlier today, and it mentioned stress as one of the main things that causes symptoms of the disorder to come out.

Apart from mental illness: I think it also goes back to her being raised without the normal social interactions you have during childhood and into your twenties. She was never socialized properly or given any sort of normalcy, that which can be given to showbiz kids. While there are many who fall from grace there are more whose parents still remain parents and insist on routine and normal childhood experiences, they MUST get thier education, the learn respect and how to communicate with people, how to carry themselves ect.

The Federal judge in the Britney Spears conservatorship saga has issued an order extending the restraining order against Sam Lutfi.

According to the order, Lutfi must stay clear of Brit -- and that includes phone contact -- through March 17. What's more, the judge ruled that Lutfi has been properly been served with legal papers. Lutfi's rep had challenged yesterday's service of process, but the judge said no problemo.

Judge Extends Sam Lutfi's Restraining Order

A federal judge late Thursday extended until March 17 a temporary restraining order preventing Britney Spears's pal Sam Lutfi from approaching the troubled pop star and her family, according to court papers

The two-page order by U.S. District Judge Phillip Gutierrez was in response to a request by Spears's father Jamie Spears, who is co-conservator of her $100 million estate.

Jamie had asked the judge to extend the temporary restraining order – served on Thursday and set to expire a day later on Friday – until the judge rules on an unusual civil rights challenge to the conservatorship.

The temporary restraining order could be extended at a March 17 hearing. But Jamie Spears would have to be able to successfully serve Lutfi with notice of the hearing; in the past, Jamie has complained that Lutfi apparently attempted to dodge being served.

The temporary restraining order, which forbids Lutfi from getting within 250 yards of Spears, her homes and her family's homes, alleges: "Mr. Lutfi has drugged Britney. He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers. He claims to control everything."

Ya know, the Star article may not be true, but it's obvious that Britney and Jamie Lynne both, have issues about 'weight' I feel like it is because of their mom. She was always so worried about Britney's clothes fitting properly or not looking sexy enough. I'm sure she's done the same thing with Jamie Lynne. I agree, that Lynne should have worried more about teaching both of them morals, values, etc. Kids do what they see their parents do, and it keeps on going down the chain. I think a lot of this could have been avoided also. You can't just stop being a MOM and start being a friend. Kids need supervision, discipline and guidance. I think both of these girls are lacking in that respect and it was bound to affect their future.

I got really ticked on the other blog...where one of the loons (so many loons) has been posting for an hour to you. Its nuts.
Anyway ......I was just browsing the other pap sites and I think X17 sucks at story telling! The page six site had me cracking up describing brits shirt and relating it to star trek uniforms!

when you get a chance, can you post the page 6 link to the story you're talking about? i know i've visited there in the past but not for a loooooong while... lol! i ♥ star trek! :) (the repeats of the 'ORIGINAL' w/william shatner & mr. SPOCK)
