Holly, I believe proffesional pshychologists have determined that Britney's mental state is currently as such that she is not competent to hire her own lawyers or handle her affairs. Otherwise, the legal system would not have approved the conservatorship.

Plus, the law says that they are not able to spend any of her money on anyone but her. These laws are put there for her PROTECTION...I'm sure they're quite similar to child welfare laws, where the children come first, not the parents who are abusing them or fighting over them.

I think we all need to keep in mind that we don't know Britney as a person. We see photos and video of her on-line, but these a just very small snippets of her life.
