Oh my god. Those poor little boys. Britney may have given birth to them but she short-changed them by not being a mother to them. I hope Kevin remarries and that those boys grow to know what a real mother is, if only in a stepmother.

She is mentally ill and 4 months of being watched isn't going to change that. No judge in their right mind would allow the kids to live with her. She can't even take care of herself and, when the conservatorship does end (if it does), she will have to prove that she can care for herself and all her business in an adult, sane manner before she has any chance of getting physical custody. It may happen but but not soon. These kids have had enough trauma. Why take chances unless she can prove she is 100% capable of handling herself and her kids?

I think this was the best option. A trial may have resulted in less visitation or worse. It also would have unearthed some nasty stuff about her and him as well.

I think she should support them since she is the bigger earner and she is paying a small amount comparatively. I think she should see them. I think they should work together to be good parents but I wouldn't leave a goldfish alone with her now or ever, frankly.

I already posted my thoughts on the thread below. But since this is a recap I will tell you I think Laura Wasser and Britney made a very shrewd move today making this deal. FEDEX will screw up. He is a no talent loser. He will have to account to the courts what he does with all that money and going to Vegas and spending it on strippers and giving thousands to waitresses for tips will not help his case. They gave him just enough rope today. And Kaplan will take the money and run like hell as far away from FEDEX as he can because like Wasser he is a shrewd attorney. Britney won't have to do anything. FEDEX will bury his own ass and when he does the judge will have to make some choices. Time will tell but I think those kids are where they need to be for now. I applaud Britney for being responsible enough to make this decision. FEDEX did not get what he wanted at all. He thought this would drag on and he would get a busload of cash from her. I think she played hardball and won. She will win in the end. The kids will be fine. They are very young. And FEDEX will be seen on a street corner in VEGAS someday holding a tin cup and dancing for a quarter with a monkey on his back. That is the problem I see in this man. He is quick to point the finger at the monkey on her back that she has worked to knock off and he is blatently advertising that he has some issues with alcohol/drugs/women...and many other things soon to be revealed. With this settlement he will have to be the father ad take care of the kids. He does not want that. He wants to party. He can't do it at his home. The courts would remove the kids and his paycheck. I feel certain that he did not think this through and that Wasser is a wonderful attorney who made a very good deal. 20 grand is nothing to Brit. In time this will all work out for Brit and her boys. I am glad they made this deal. I don't believe FEDEX is the MR MOM type. He is not too bright. He should have held out for a trial. No I am not over this I am very proud of this decision that Brit and her lawyer made. Good job.

Whether you like or hate her, it's pretty sad that a mother would give up her children. Even if she has issues, I can't believe she'd give up sole custody. These kids will suffer but at least K-Fed is there for them. Britney should have worked harder to get herself sane and I don't care what anyone says, no mother would do the same.

The kids will be safe with Kfed, we have already seen that he sees that they are cared for. Be it a Nanny and the body guard; they are cared for and appear healthy. I am not a fan in any way star, but I too believe that there is no possible way that someone who is not mentally ill could act like that for the years she has. She shows all the signs and takes the meds that go with that sort of impairment. But I also believe that she is still responsible for her actions and she has done some atrocious things to basically everyone around her at one point or another. We make our choices and we end up directly with the results and these are the consequences of her actions. Our positions are not that different, it's just that I think she is a horrendous person, ill or not, she is getting back what everyone does when they choose such a despicable path to walk along.

I will mention one person who I think was a sad showcase of self destruction and perhaps, even mental illness, Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. Although I never have heard a 100% confirmed source, I believe that he may have suffered from some sort of mental illness, but once he took his first hit of heroin, he might as well have written his epitaph; which I believe he was actively doing in his music. I think he was also a very intelligent person, but deeply troubled and then ruined by the very thing he felt opened him up to his deepest tortured feelings. His more or less last public performance in the MTV Unplugged set, which took place shortly before his death, showed a hugely talented man freely bearing the darkness of his soul, as well as the last bit of light within him. But it also showed him crumbling and it becomes very apparent when he begins to fade in the show and the looks of sincere concern on his bandmate's faces are also evident. I am left with the sadness at the loss of a great talent and the anger of a person who wasted their lives in the throws of an addiction that killed him. Let's just say that his music affects me in many ways well beyond never having met the man and being more than what was the sum of just music to some.

A very low budget movie that was Kurt Wimmer's 1st film. Some may like it, some may hate it. Just be sure to watch the extras with the film and much is explained. It is a huge cult film and for good reason. It will be strange to watch Heath tear through the scenery while thinking of the eventual outcome. I also think that much of the energy of this film comes from the power of Ledger's last massive flare up before his star literally burned out. Man, it just made me think of another film and it's star that I greatly enjoyed, The Crow, but for different, yet slightly similar reasons. I will always credit that film for being one of the films that opened up the complexities of a dark character struggling with heroic traits.

The judge could make the conservatorship permanent next month. The conservator would be her dad unless he asked to be released and someone else stepped up. Britney can always ask to have the cship removed at anytime but would have to prove that she is competent to care for herself. They could also change it to be a conservatorship of the estate only and not of the person in which case Britney would not be conservered but her father would control her assets. It is hard to say which way it will go, depends on her commitment to recovery and ongoing mental health care and medication.

Ok, one last thought, but it is a bit (actually very) of a dark thought about the frustration many people feel in today's society and what some are willing to forgive. Think of the death penalty and how it is used. We are still executing people who are either borderline mentally ill or retarded and also people who committed crimes while totally under the influence of drugs. This is not a pro or anti DP statement, but a simple analogy of how the frustration many feel and is in many ways a direct microcosm of a deteriorating world. What I am implying is that those who are frustrated by the seemingly complete absence of compassion towards people need only to look at how our society operates in such a brutal fashion and why. I'm not saying this is universal or right, but only that this is a much more desperate world that is much less tolerant of mistakes made by others. For some, but not all, the frustration is valid. I think of both sides of this and similar things when I see the emotional attachment without understanding that many people, including occasionally myself, feel here. I'm just not as emotionally attached about this subject and person, but there are so many others things that I am on that level about. It makes for interesting observation, despite what your feelings are. Now I've really got to get out of here. Let that rumble around in your heads when you think about what is said here. Or not. Did I ever tell yeew about my Siamese cat? Well he's a "Snow foot" (or "Snow shoe", I forget which). He got attacked bi a dog last month. I didn't know his wounds had become infected because he was just being aloof and I thought, hey, he's being a typical cat. Then when I saw his eyes looked really weird (droopy) I picked him up and saw that he had a ton of infection. Anyway, I took him to the vet the next day. The vet said that my Siamese cat, Su-Mil, might die. That's how bad Su-Mil was. The vet kept him overnight on an IV and antibiotics and Su-Mil survived. The trips to the vet has cost me over $600, but you know what, "kitty", it's worth it. Su-mil is the best kitty in the world!

This was a very clever way of getting Kaplan paid off and the custody issue ended for now. It was getting expensive. There was some trading to get this done. That is how attorneys operate. Kaplan don't give a rats ass about the kids or Kevin Federline. He likes it that he was representing in this case for the cash and the publicity he got. But Kevin is not that bright. He did not get this worked to. This was attorney to attorney represent clients. The one who got the best deal is Britney. She will no longer have to pay Kaplan anything unless she brings up another matter against Kevin and loses. $20,000 budget for those kids upkeep and it will require him to give them the lifestyle they would and should have with their mother in her custody. That is why the amount is so high. If he tries to get more money later he will have to pay attorney fees which he will not be able to afford. And he will not want the kids when he realizes that he signed off on a deal that tied him down. Getting a woman to marry him to take care of the will be another person in the equation and it would have to be a really stupid woman with no money and that is not going to help his cause. He has no income of his own. And if he spends that money on anything other than taking care of those kids he will get admonished by the very commish that awarded the money. California is very prudent in their requirements when it comes to child support. And in this high profile of a case he will be watched by the world. So Keven I hope you like being Mr.Mom because you got your wish. $20 G's is nothing in the circle he's been running in. Who's gonna hire this loser especially after the truth comes about about Kevin and it will. And to that idiot who is saying the courts documents that are sealed say Britney injured her sons arm for life you are the one that needs to go to the nut house. You have no idea what was in the documents. In a high profile case like this it is not uncommon for the documents to be sealed for things such as phone no.'s and addresses. To protect the parties involved if it might put the children at risk for them to be in public records. I know, I work for courts. This was the right move to deal with Kaplan and Kevin.
