I love her and I love her music and I know as a mother that she does love her children. My own mother had to give us up for a time to my father after they divorced and it was a hard thing to do. She married young and had 10 children and had a nervous breakdown and then breast cancer. It takes time to work through the things my mother had to go through. She was clinically depressed. She had to have some quiet time to deal with her issues. Like Britney my mother was a performer as well as my 4 older brothers and sisters. They performed at the Grand Ole Opry for many years. My father was a songwriter in Nashville. He wrote some of the songs that are popular on the radio now. He also wrote for Porter Wagoner, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard. My mother's illness was not easy for either of my parents. They had busy lives and lots of people on them to produce. But they got through it. They loved us and that is all that matters. When the problems between them started I was 6 years old. I remember the confusion I felt. But my Daddy and my Mama told me not to worry that it would be ok and I believed them and it was. I am sure that Kevin and Britney are telling their children the same things. No matter whether my mother was ill or not my daddy and my mother still had to make a living. I have never resented my mother or my father and I do not think Britney's kids will resent her or even remember. That is because the only things worth remembering is the good. Some people refuse to believe that but it is true. In life it is how you approach things that determines the outcome. Britney is working hard at turning her life around. I know it is hard. I think it is time for her to come clean admit that she has bipolar disorder and that she should take on mental illness as her cause. The musical community has accepted her back and given her three VMAs to boost her confidence and let her know that it is ok to be mentally ill, which like it or not that is what she is. She would be doing a lot of good to erase the stigmatism around bipolar disorder and mental illness if she were to be honest and admit to what she is dealing with. If it wasn't for her father, she would still be in the hospital. A conservatorship means that you cannot take care of your basic needs, food, clothes and shelter and must have a guardian, that is an extremely serious determination made by the courts and the doctors and takes away all of her rights. That is why she will not have custody of her kids anytime soon. It is not that simple that going on a diet, getting a new haircut and some new clothes and putting on makeup can fix. It is a serious psychiatric condition that takes years as much as seven years to recover from a psychotic breakdown like she suffered back to back. I happen to work in the medical field so I am very familiar with this, try googling bipolar disorder and research it for yourself if you need proof. Britney will take years to recover and may never be the same again. I hate to break it you, kind of like 9/11 it will be a new normal. Kind of like the transformation you are seeing now, no drinking, partying, vacant stares etc. Another note, THERE IS NO CURE FOR BIPOLAR DISORDER, it can only be managed, just like diabetes.

That's right, she has no custody of her sons at all. Her lawyer tried to make it sound like she did, by saying she had 40% "custodial time" with them - meaning that she gets to visit with them 40% of the week. Kevin has 100% custody of the boys. This means that he makes all the decisions about the boys welfare. Britney has no legal right to say what she wants for them. I don't believe that she will ever have any "legal custody" of them. She looks fine when someone else cleans her up, but she seems incapable of cleaning herself up. That's one sign of someone who's mentally incompetent. I doubt that she will ever regain her career, but if she does - well, good for her. I just thought that her playing at the studio, visits with her kids, were all part of her prescribed therapy.
