Some of you Britney fans are amazingly ignorant. If it weren't for Jamie, your "Queen B" would probably either be in some mental hospital, jail or dead by now. His job as Britney's conservator, babysitter, personal manager, etc... is a 24/7/365 job, and by my estimation, he has earned every penny he has received. It was Jamie that stepped in and took over the accounting only to find that Britney's friends and business associates had milked her for MILLIONS. It was Jamie that put a stop to Britney hanging out with parasites like Sam and Adnoid who were not only draining her bank account, but were slowing killing her. Those two facts alone more than justify his salary. Unlike his ex-wife Lynn, Jamie had long ago walked away from "the machine" and refused any money. He stepped in when he saw that his daughter was in real danger. $16k a month may sound like a lot of money, but the cost of living in L.A. is quite a bit higher than in Hooterville, USA. The lame argument that "he should work for free because he is her father" is ridiculous. Jamie needs to eat, he needs a place to live, he has bills, medical expenses and taxes to pay just like anyone else. If he is spending all of his time looking after his daughter, where is the money supposed to come from?
