I read in a magazine she only wants partial/joint/equal custody because she wants to work. Today we're going to brush up on Compound Sentences.

A compound sentence is a sentence with 2 or more Independent clauses that are not correctly seperated with the proper punctuation.

A compound sentence can often be corrected with a comma and a short conjecture such as For, And, Nor,Be,Or,Yet,So.

as in ____, Nor ______

or _____,and_____

Another way to fix a compound sentence is using a longer conjecture such as Consequently, Therefore, Nevertheless, However, Thus, Hence, Henceforth, In fact with a Semi-colon and a comma.

as in ____;thus,

or ____;however,

Another way to correct a compound sentence is to use just a semi-colon to separate the clauses. If you choose to use a semi-colon, the clauses must be parallel in word and structure.

As I was conducting my usual Friday afternoon ritual of guzzling Party Water while reading through the BWE.tv e-mail tips and trying to decide which press release was the most irrelevant and poorly-conceived, I stumbled upon the following communique from one of you, our dear readers:

Dear Best Week Ever,

I adore you and your website is a sweet refuge from the monotony of my days. However, the most recent posting regarding polygamist wives and their unibrows contains a few mistakes. You write, “Which is a real shame, because earlier in the week, a Texas compound chock full of polygamist’s was raided.” This is not a complete sentence. Where is the subject? Additionally, the word “polygamist’s” in the second line should not have an apostrophe. Though I certainly do not judge you, I cannot get past the errors. Perhaps a copy editor or a lively seminar on the Strunk and White classic Elements of Style is in order.

I’m not familiar with this “Strunk and White” of which you speak, but I will assume it’s one of those “book” things I hear so much about from old-timey people. These “books” are like short, boring internets, yes? Forgive me for not caring about them. I hope you do not mistake my curt, flippant response for a wanton disregard of our readership, but as I said before, I’m too drunk (and White) to really know what I’m talking about right now. Many of you are tweens or teenagers. You have no concept of what it is like to have a child or what happens in divorce or how much it hurts. For the adults here you are just fucked up if you think Britney does not look good after having two kids. As far as custody goes the court will give her kids back when she is able to be a full time mother but for now she is working on growing up. She never had a childhood, she was too busy supporting her family. I don't hate her for that. There are many people in this world that suck as parents and sometimes it takes what it takes to get the parents to grow the hell up. Instead of being on here bashing Britney why don't you parents go spend some quality time with your own kids and quit worrying so much about Britney's. Those babies are fine for now, Britney is the one with the problems. It takes time to heal. As adults you surely know this but act like you have never known anyone who has gone astray in their life and hurt others and had to make amends. Britney will have to cross that bridge when she is able to.

Most people who go through divorce and mental illness don't have no where near the help she does. But they still have to look after their kids. Unlike her.

There is every possibility that they might have some insecurities as attachment happens to all of us during our first three years and if there is not a primary caregiver it can be confusing to a child, however, there are many people in this world that have come through the same type of situations that Britney's kids have gone through and much worse and grew up to be healthy happy productive members of society. I see there are a few that come here that are either still in the adolescent phase or simply are not old enough to understand that all people screw up and anyone who says they have never made someone else hurt is in denial.
