Keep in mind that Jamie is a recovering Alcholic. He no longer drinks and has himself had to pick himself up from a dark place not to long ago. He is sober, had a great job in L.A. as a chef when he chose to take control and save Britney's life. He gave up his job and only asked for compensation that he was getting on his job even though what he does with Britney is a 24/7 job. $2,000 a week hardly seems to be a gold digger kind of salary...

Britney's father is a recovering alcoholic who is clean and sober now. Whether or not this story this is true or not (and I doubt it since we never heard it before) - whatever. I'm sure all alcoholics have done things they are ashamed of. Right now, this man is a SAINT in my eyes for everything he is doing for Britney. He is doing everything in his power to get his daughter healthy and back in her children's lives. If it weren't for him, she would still be living a dangerous life, with people sucking off her and blowing through her money. At least now, she has a CHANCE at life. What she chooses to do with that chance is up to her.

Well I read a bunch of the opinions that people have and I think some have the best of intentions but are using negative words and not being honest or realistic about families in America. The truth is that there are no families in this country that lives without dysfunction. We all have our share of problems. We learn to cope as we mature and even then we make poor choices. We are human. We learn as we go. Britney is working very hard to pick herself up and go on with her life. She is doing a fine job. She has made a lot more progress in this last year than the person that is consistently on every thread talking about FAS in the family. You my dear have some issues that you need to address. It is your way of hopefully getting attention. I guess to you negative attention is fine as long as someone pays attention to you. You need to talk to your family or whomever you live with and tell them how lonely you are and how desperate that you have wrote this about 500 times or more. We got it, you think they have FAS. Now moving on it does not matter what happened in the past as long as the family is working on things together and it appears that they are. The main point is that it is their family, their lives and their choices. Certainly I do not believe that tale. If it were true it would have come out a long time ago. I don't think the family should lie and always try and spin their pasts into positive stuff, its obvious what they have come from. I am not judging just saying its likely to be true. There is no shame that they were poor or failures at business and bankrupt. but .. If Jaime has cleaned himself up i hope its an inspiration to his daughter he should tell her like it is, or she will lie to herself about her problems.

sadly i think its too little too late as the paterns of addiction and abuse seem set and they were destined to be dysfunctional. Hopefully he (Jaime) knows how to beat addiction and may be her only chance of a clean lifestyle. Sadly i think putting her back to work a year after a complete breakdown is harsh, she needs to be a mom. In the documentary she talks about marrying again and having children next year she doesn't think about her past marraige or the babies she has had. I found that strange and sad.
I hope they do well this is sad its already been a year and may go on for many more possibly her whole life. Both of them father and daughter need to be strong.

I do remember the mother trying to prevent Jaime lynne going out so she could get more money for exclusive baby photos and interviews, the mother is also pushing a book about the children and making money off them in a way.
