The LAPD is finally commenting on the investigation first reported by TMZ earlier this month.

As we said, Sam Lutfi is under investigation by the Robbery Homicide division of LAPD for allegedly drugging Brit. LAPD officials first said there was no such investigation. Now, Captain Kyle Jackson of Robbery Homicide has issued the following statement:

Sam did know she was taking seroquel and risperdal, but didn't know exactly what they were for. A lot of people who are mildly depressed take drugs like that but they aren't taken in on a 5150. Sam did lose his temper and tried to get the guy to do what he wanted. There was a restraining order. Lots of people lose their tempers and don't get restraining orders. Lots of people try worse things to get other people to do what they want. You don't know Sam's side of any of these situations either. Prior restraining orders don't prove Sam is a bad guy. Courts hand out restraining orders pretty easy on the statement of just one person and if that person is biased or lies then there is still a restraining order so that doesn't prove anything.
