I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. I used from age 12 to 39. At 39 years old I went to rehab on my own and stayed 4 months. After I got out of there I tried to resume my life but what I did not understand is that I had Bipolar Disorder and I needed medications to control it. I am hypomanic (TYPE II). I can go for days and even a week without sleep and did go for years with only 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. I thought it was cool to be like that. Benzodiazepates were my speed (VAALIUM,ZANEX) etc. Sometimes a person can have a chemical imbalance and certain drugs react on them differently than they do on others. Britney can get better and never have a relapse but with ANYONE that is an ADDICT or ALCOHOLIC there is always the possibility of a relapse. ONE DAY AT A TIME. I get my 11 year chip on October 31. SOBRIETY IS A CHOICE.
