If the Circus Tour continues to receive lackluster reviews, Shitney is going to go off the deep end again. If convicted he could face up to seven years in prison. Even if the conservatorship ended tomorrow and the TRO was rescinded, Adnan will still be facing the felony trial. Adnan’s name should be crossed off Britney‘s “to do” list at 11:40. Britney ruined the man’s life and she doesn’t care one iota. Britney only cares about is herself.

Until recently, the Spears Machine has been able to control the flow of information from the courts because some records are sealed. That won’t be the case when Adnan goes to trial. Even if you’re horrified by the artifice and the lack of any traces of humanity, sweetness or warmth—it’s hard not be dazzled by the lights, the explosions and the sheer volume of it all. It’s been a whole two years since Britney’s head-shaving meltdown and the drama that ensued. Her hospitalization; her estrangements from family, friends and (gasp) management (as one ex-pal shrugged, “She goes through people like she goes through dogs”); and of course, her vomit-spattered, panty-deprived association with Paris Hilton (who dubbed her “The Animal”).

But despite the trash trail of Spears’s social life, she has lately come up with some of her best pop songs yet: 2007’s The Blackout was a wildly futuristic production, as bleak and sleazy as her notorious VMA performance. Visually, her latest album, Circus, seeks to recast her as golden-haired, soft-focus siren, but its contents are far stranger and far more exciting than that image suggests. A fizzy mash-up of blips and snaps, with the occasional ballad thrown in for good measure, Circus makes the supposedly daring likes of Lady GaGa or Little Boots look positively staid.

The ancient art of lip-synching made a triumphant comeback Tuesday night, dominating, as it did, wannabe dominatrix Britney Spears' 90-minute New Orleans show, which launched her 45-date "Circus" tour. (A Philly date has yet to be added.) The singularly non-sensual (and nonsensical) Brit, 27, who must be the unsexiest sex symbol in history, packed the show with so much spectacle that some critics said it drowned her out.
Brit may have cycled through 807 costumes, but each was cut from the same sex-shop cloth: There was a metallic robot-style corset, a police uniform, sequinned jodhpurs, PVC hot pants and a Swarovski crystal-studded bra, and the piece de résistance - a sequinned leotard with nipple tassels. Brit did a pole dance, lap danced to a clown, and fondled her male dancers. Oh, and she moved her lips to "Baby One More Time," "I'm A Slave 4 U," and "Womanizer." All this for $95 to $250 per ticket! (Some folks paid as much as $750).
