I think there is a morbid curiosity to watch this unfold. I think people cannot fathom how she could walk away from what looked to be the perfect life, ie, the fame, the money, the ability to go anywhere and do anything, & then the shock of watching her essentially walking away from her children. Regardless of the reasoning behind the decisions or actions on Britney's behalf (drugs, illness, selfishness), I believe there is a core need for people to reconcile within themselves why someone would do something like this.

Its not unlike the Susan Smith case in North Carolina. People could not understand what would drive a mother to drown her two little boys. Or Andrea Yates in Texas. On one hand people try to explain it, others are angry and express their outrage, others still try to give her the benefit of the doubt over and over and over again.

Yes, there are some incredibly insensitive comments made on this site. But after all, this is a public forum and you will get the good with the bad. You also need to accept that you cannot control what others think or type.
