Chris Brown: "I'm Not Perfect"

How is this at all tool-y? Sounds like a sincere 17 year old kid back then dealing with the abuse he witnessed, fame, and dating in the public eye. Sympathy "vote"? He didn't ask them to publish this old interview. Are you guys just mad this contradicts the image you all are selling about this boy being a monster?

I think Vibe is trying to garner sympathy and understanding for Chris Brown by publishing this article, while at the same time using a quote from an unnamed "source" to say that Rihanna is crazy, insane and flips out easily on Chris. No matter than many "sources" could say the same is true of Brown who always seems to want to be involved in Rihanna's career (writing songs for her etc. It's an issue of control, really).

It was pretty obvious that the editors want their readers to feel sorry for Brown and make Rihanna the "bad one" who pushed him into this situation.

This is a typical slant found within the hip-hop world. The whole pimps up, hoes down mentality. Black women are always sacrificed for Black men, no matter what they do. Excuses are always made for the male behavior, and the women will always be at fault, even onto death. A Black woman's life just is not valued within the Black community. It's sad, but true.

Umm, the tool here is obviously the person who posted this blog. This interview is 2 years old. How is it him trying to gain sympathy? Unless Chris Brown has some stake in Vibe Magazine and told them to exploit the situation between him and Rihanna even more than you guys or TMZ have, then I'm confused as to all the "Ugh, is this guy a tool or what?" comments. Seems like this guy has had some issues in the past and was trying not to follow that path. And on first look, I wasn't even trying to look at anymore bullshit, trash magazines on the issue. But since this seems like a refreshing, new, investigative perspective on the issue, I'll be picking it up. Thanx X17!!!

He wrote a song for her (as he's written for other people) that is 4 million platinum and that she (according to her) begged for. She put it on reloaded instead of waiting for the new album because he was going to sell it. I don't see her complaining. I understand we are all very savvy these days and know when the media is selling us poo. But I actually feel that way about the "Chris is the devil" crap. Perhaps this article is supposed to balance the exaggerated accounts so far in the media? What if accounts of her behavior and her flipping out are actually TRUE? Does it not matter? And those stories were already a part of the Chrianna narrative before the incident. It is called context. If there were stories about him being abusive to other females before this, then that would be the context. And it is especially intriguing since he was so very vocal about DV and him attempting to deal with his issues. And you go a little far with the "black community" bashing. I do think there is a reflex to excuse certain behavior because of how black men are often over-demonized. And this angers me as well but I just don't think that is the case here. I think there were some extenuating circumstances here and the media has been vicious.
