Xtina Opens Up About Abuse

christinaabuse.jpg

Christina Aguilera opened up to E! in a new doc about the abuse her family suffered at the hands of her father when she was a child.

"I witnessed a lot of unpleasant things - a lot of pushing and shoving and fighting and quarreling," Christina told the net. "Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from."

Christina's talked vaguely about her abuse in the past, but her mother detailed a horrific incident that resulted in Christina's chin being bloodied, which eventually led the family to flee from Aguilera's father, Fausto.

"I scooped her up and said, 'Oh my God. What's wrong?'" Christina's mom Shelley told E!. "She told me, 'Daddy wanted to take a nap and I made too much noise.'"

Christina tried to reconcile with her father as an adult, but found his presence wasn't "necessary in my life."

At least she has a wonderful and supportive family now!

Ummm this is not new, she talked about this 10 years ago.

12:08 WOW, could you be more stupid? Talking about her abusive childhood is not going to make people buy her new album! I'm sure that's not her intention

Old News!!BORING!!12:08 YOU HAVE TO MAKE NEW MUSIC TO SELL IT.Her career is dead!!

That's very unfortunate but she seems like a nasty person so it's not right to pass on nastiness.

Also, seems there's nothing celebs won't sink to doing if it will make them rich and famous. Could very well be she's doing it to get attention esp since she's been out of the spotlight for some time.

We've known about the abuse so many years now, and this is something she talked about on her E! special. It's so stupid to say that she talks about it to sell cd's!

I LOVE Christina. She is one of my most favorite singers and celebrities and will always be, even though she isn't a tabloid hog like other certain celebrities. She's a professional performer and she has one of the best voices in the world....cut her some slack, idiots. Britney only gets this kind of attention because her daddy makes her. OH and her being out of the 'spotlight'....SHE HAS A TODDLER! She's doing the right thing by being a MOM and raising her kid, not handing her kid off to her nannies or husband while she goes on tour or clubbing.

I hope someone knocks her the hell out. She deserves to get beat up for her awful music.

gorgeous and talented..... love that she doesn't run ariund town naked to get press, britney needs to grow up and try doing with her career with some clothes on. oh, that's if daddy lets her, cause she is 30 and still can't make her own decisions

people talk about their past to heal, it helps then move forward. i grew up in a similar household and to this day i cry when i think of my childhood. so be a little compasionate people, and if you dont like her or don't have something kind to say, then don't say anything at all.. no wonder this world is the way it is, humanity is rotting

Christina Aguilera is one of the most inspirational and powerful voices of our time. I absolutely love her, and I love her music. She definitely is doing the right thing by being a mom and not handing her little Max over to nannies. She did not deserve to be abused as a child. NO ONE deserves to be abused especially not a child. Her childhood has obviously had a big impact on her, give her break at least she uses her music to empower herself and others and isn't out their doing bad things like some people who were abused as children. Her music helps me everyday! I love her forever!!!!!!!!!
