A gastric band, that is!


We've seen Courtney Love's weight yo-yo in the last few years. And although she may have attributed it to a diet and clean-living, NOTW claims otherwise!

Apparently, it was actually a gastric band that's kept her weight in check!

Which Courtney do you prefer? Super-skinny, or a bit meatier?

Or the fact that Courtney's face is such a mess it doesn't even look like it can be fixed?

Courtney went shopping in Malibu yesterday, and though her body isn't that bad, her face makes Tori Spelling's look fresh and natural. And I'm not even going to talk about the outfit she's wearing.

Right?

Here's Courtney Love leaving Nobu in the 'Bu with a friend late last night and she looks... well... like herself.

Hey, at least she's not wearing that crazy-red lipstick!

...but WTF is all that green crud on her arm?!

We caught a quick glimpse of Courtney's forearm as she was getting into a car a few days ago and, well, ewwww! We sure hope Courtney's doing okay these days - after all the strange behavior we've seen her exhibiting lately, we've kinda been wondering if something's up with the Hole singer lately!

If you're a celebrity and you break your toe while out walking, would you:

A) Call a taxi, or

B) Hop into a grocery cart and have your friend push you down the street?

If you're a celebrity named Courtney Love you're going to go with B hands down.

That's okay, some things in life just weren't meant to make sense.

We must have caught Courtney Love in a loquacious mood yesterday, candidly chitchatting with our photographers about everything from the status of her former relationship with Russell Brand to her skill to easing people's sex addictions to Jamie Lynn Spears' new daughter.

If only she'd taken the same amount of time to explain her, uh, interesting see-through outfit - honestly, we're a little surprised they let her into Nobu looking like that!

Good thing Courtney Love's got such a pronounced independent streak - if she'd listened to her handlers fifteen years ago, she wouldn't have a daughter today!

Page Six got their hands on a copy of Bumping Into Geniuses, a new memoir from former Warner Brothers Records CEO and Nirvana manager Danny Goldberg, which claims that, during the Hole singer's pregnancy with her daughter Frances Bean, friends grew so concerned about the consequences of her heroin abuse that they gently tried to talk her out of having the baby.

Goldberg tells the story of one of Love's visits to Cedars-Sinai's chemical dependency program, where a doctor attempted to give "clinical" advice to the singer about how it "was not a great idea to have a baby while dealing with addiction."

Courtney, of course, exploded, shrieking "You're not telling me to have a [bleep]-ing abortion, are you? I mean I'm pro-choice, but that doesn't mean that anyone has the right to tell me to have a [bleep]ing abortion."

When the doctor went on to suggest that the shock of rehabilitation and withdrawl might negatively affect the six-week-old fetus growing insider her, the singer adopted a "confrontational" posture, insisting on seeing medical proof substantiating the doctor's claims. After the doctor eventually relented, admitting that kicking junk probaly wouldn't damage the baby physically, Love allegedly "towered over the doctor seated at his desk" with a triumphant look on her face.

Needless to say, the rest is history: Courtney went on to kick smack, Frances Bean was born on August 18, 1992, and everything's been great ever since. Talk about a happy ending!

Fifteen-year-old Frances Bean Cobain is in talks with Karl Lagerfeld to be featured in an ad campaign for Chanel, according to the Daily Mail!

Courtney is apparently "concerned" about young Frances working for the fashion giant at such a young age - and that's not just because Courtney was in trouble with the legend after being caught wearing a fake Chanel! But if Frances does decide to do the campaign, she'll be in great company.

Both Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley have shilled for Chanel.

There's nothing quite like love in Paris - except for Courtney Love in Paris, of course!

Actually, we only managed to catch up with Courtney as she and her boyfriend Noel Fielding took their leave at the Gare du Nord train station. (Hopefully the train has a smoking car - after all, given the way that Courtney's been banned from Virgin Airways after lighting up, she's running out of options!)

It's been a hard life for Ms. Love -- she's evened out those lines on her face with a few nips and tucks but that doesn't hide the stuff going on below the surface.

Speaking of which, just what is going on here? We caught Courtney out yesterday with a pal in LA at a doctor's office! What kinda "medicine" is she getting there?!

To say it's a vast improvement from last year's post-Oscar party look is an understatement.

But it does seem like she was clinging to some sort of 80s prom theme last night at FoxTail - the strapless bodice, the ruffles, the big bangs.

And just what's going on with that top, anyhow? Is that little glimpse of white supposed to be peeking out?

Lots of lovely ladies came out for the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris this Sunday. Victoria Beckham was in attendance - where else would she be? - as was Dita Von Teese (not wearing black for once!), Courtney Love, Sofia Coppola (who I used to hate but now I adore) and, of course, the Fashion King himself, Kanye West. Seriously, why is he there? Oh well, guess he wanted a little more post-VMA press!

The woman who's reinvented herself almost as many times as Madonna looks, dare I say it, chic in Paris for fashion week.

These two are certainly an interesting pair! A sunglasses-wearing Victoria Beckham - dressed in a gorgeous green dress - was escorted to the Chanel Ready-to-Wear show at the Grand Palais in Paris. And who was following in her footsteps (literally)? Dita Von Teese! The burlesque "artist" wore her signature black to the event... no corsets, though! Love that these two are together. If Marilyn Manson and David Beckham ever start hanging out, then we'll have seen everything!

The last few times we've spotted Courtney Love out and about, she's been looking a little less-than spectacular, but she certainly showed up for Givenchy's big Spring-Summer 2008 Ready To Wear show yesterday in style - or at least in leopard spots! (Then again, what else is Fashion Week for if not for making sure you're looking your best?)

There have been a lot of hat-wearing celebs out and about these past couple weeks, and we all know celebrities love their hats. Lindsay Lohan's rockin' her black cap while Tommy Lee, well, shouldn't wear yellow. On the other hand Johnny Depp looks fierce in anything while Kirsten Dunst should avoid hats altogether! (Hey, the girl could use a little sun.) Who's your fave... or actually, who's your not-so-fave?

People don't give Courtney Love enough credit for being absolutely crazy -- I mean you've got the cover of every magazine saying Britney's lost her mind or Lindsay's wack but what about Ms. Love! Just look at that face, will you! The jaw is f*cked, the skin is bad, you can see the thin scar lines around her nostrils, and on top of all that, she's wearing a think wool sweater dress in 100 degree LA weather -- and with a hat to boot!
