Whoa, we weren't expecting this! When asked if it was true that she shares a smooch with co-star/pal Kristen Stewart in The Runways, not only did Dakota Fanning say yes, but she admitted that it was a passionate one!

At the New Moon premiere in LA the other night, Dakota told Access Hollywood, “Yes, it happens in The Runaways." When asked if it was a "passionate kiss," Dakota replied, “Yeah. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the ‘70s ... We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters."

I love both of these actresses, but I don't know how I feel about this! A little bit awkward, no?

Dakota Fanning smashed any remembrance of her child star-status when she showed up to the New Moon premiere in a sophisticated and sexy black lace strapless mini-dress.

Yep, I just used the word "sexy" in the same sentence at "Dakota Fanning."

Not only did she show off some impressive leg, but the girl worked the red carpet in blood-red platform heels, to boot!

Sorry Kristen, we love you for trying (and failing) with the princess gown, but this is how to make a splash at the premiere!

A very grown-up Dakota Fanning graces the cover of Teen Vogue next month, where she dishes on fashion, New Moon, and her BFF, Kristen Stewart.

"We became really close," Dakota says of her New Moon and Runaways co-star Kristen, "like we'd known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time." And being that her character is at odds with Kristen's in the new Twilight film, Dakota felt that shooting some scenes were a little awkward. "Because I do know Kristen so well, being mean to her was really weird. It's like, Sorry, dude!"

Dakota also said playing Jane in New Moon was "really fun" because it was the first time she played a "really bad girl!" And it certainly wasn't the last!

Dakota also played Cherie Currie to Kristen's Joan Jett in Runaways, and says their real-life relationship mirrors the punk-rockers in the film. Well, "minus the destructive part."

But what's with good girl Dakota suddenly loving being a bad girl? Could Kristen's sullen and brooding ways be having an effect on sweet little Dakota?

X17 photographers snapped Dakota Fanning arriving at the UCLA Medical Center yesterday, and the young actress seemed to have a concerned look on her face, so we hope everything is ok!

However, we can’t help but notice Dakota seems to be turning in quite a little fashionista! LOVE those HOT jeans and shoes!

We can't wait to see just how wicked little miss Jane is...and since some of our X17 staffers aren't caught up on the books, we're still not sure what's going to happen!

We've been seeing so much of Robsten these days, it's nice to take a break and take a look at Dakota Fanning! The Georgia native is playing Jane in the Twilight series, and we spotted her in Vancouver with everyone else over the weekend...

Maybe she'll start dating someone from the cast as well!

When we snapped Dakota Fanning on set yesterday, the teen starlet was looking a little worse for wear! Thankfully when we spotted her later in the day at the Four Seasons, it looked like everything was back to normal!

In case you missed it earlier, child-turned-teen actress Dakota Fanning was spotted on a date this past Saturday night!

Kristen Stewart's co-star in The Runaways dined at Il Cielo in Bev Hills with fellow actor Freddie Highmore, of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory fame. (Sidebar, Freddie's mom is a talent agent that reps Daniel Radcliffe - small world!)

So nice to see an innocent date between two young, normal people in this town. Think they'll be going out again? We hope so!

Dakota Fanning - star of the upcoming The Runaways with Kristen Stewart - had a date with Freddie Highmore at Il Cielo in the BH Saturday night... and it looks like they both had an enjoyable time!

London-born Freddie starred with Johnny Depp in both Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (where he played Charlie), so he's no stranger to the acting world. Think these two make a good couple?

My goodness that's a lot of makeup! But Dakota Fanning is playing Cherie Curie in The Runaways biopic, so she knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed on for the role. The teen actress was snapped on set in Los Angeles yesterday, and while she kept covered up with a robe, we were able to sneak a peek at the pounds of MAC on her face.

Whew! That makes Christina Aguilera look fresh faced!

It seems like child star Dakota Fanning as been kid-acting in films forever, it's so odd to see her in a more grown-up light now, as she prepares to take on the role of Cherie Currie opposite Kristen Stewart's Joan Jett in The Runaways!

Regardless, she seems to be transitioning (and not in a Chaz Bono way) quite nicely, and we can't wait to see her kill it in the film!
