Report: Elin Nordegren Considers Opening Mental Health Clinic

Aug 29, 2010 10:12 AM

No, not for herself...

Tiger Woods' ex wife Elin Nordegren made many millions in her divorce settlement from the pro golfer, and now she wants to help set up a clinic providing mental health counseling to underprivileged families in Florida, reports the Sunday Times of London.

A colleague had this to say about the situation:

"Elin has a lot of ideas, including setting up her own clinic to help poorer children suffering from mental illnesses such as depression, eating disorders and hypertension, which can result from living in a broken family. Maybe it's not surprising, but she feels strongly that children are the real victims when marriages fail."

Sidebar, Elin will have completed a degree in mental health counseling at Rollins College by Christmas. She can then apply to become a professional therapist.

Hey, maybe she can counsel Tiger! Now THAT'D be something.

Elin Nordegren Says She "Never Suspected" Tiger's Cheating

Aug 25, 2010 08:02 AM

peoplecoverelin.jpgTiger Wood's shamed wife Elin Nordegren sat down with People magazine for her one and only interview, according to her words. She says this will be her first and last public comment on her divorce and that she intends to lead a private life.

Perhaps most shocking to the public is that after so many women came forward claiming to have slept with Woods, Nordegren says she never had any idea her husband was being unfaithful: "I'm so embarrassed that I never suspected - not a one. For the past 3 1/2 years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and my school."

Elin tells the mag, of the process of dealing with her pro golfer husband's cheating: "I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children."

About reports she attacked Tiger with a golf club the night of his car accident in November 2009, she tells People: "There was never any violence inside or outside our home. The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous."

She says the pair attempted to rebuild their relationship but "without trust and love," there was nothing left to work with.

The 30-year-old mother of two is working on a psychology degree and says of her plans for the future: "My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal."

The couple's children, Sam, 3, and Charlie, 19 months, are her priority and are the rocks that are keeping Elin's outlook bright: "I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself."

Pro golfer Tiger Woods and his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren have reached a divorce settlement after attending the state-required four-hour parenting class required in Florida.

The former couple's divorce documents state that the two have been living apart since Woods wrecked his car after a domestic dispute on Thanksgiving 2009 that led to the public revelation that Woods had been cheating on his wife with various women -- many of whom eventually came forward.

The documents do not disclose any alimony sum, nor child support -- just that "The parenting plan is in the best interests of the children." Sam, 3, and Charlie, 18 months, are expected to live with their mother who will revert to her maiden name, Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren.

South Park Takes A Swing At Tiger Woods

Mar 18, 2010 02:47 PM

Comedy Central's South Park is no stranger to controversial material. For the show's 14th season premiere, creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker decided to use Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's family drama...and make it into a game. Well, sort of.

In the animated clip, a character resembling Tiger Woods is chased out of the house on Thanksgiving night by a club-wielding Elin look-a-like. Turns out, the scene is part of a violent video game being played by the South Park boys. The game is referred to as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.

EA Sports tells X17online exclusively that they were never contacted by Comedy Central prior to this South Park episode. EA Sports will release the real version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 on June 8.

This particular South Park episode called Sexual Healing focused around celebrity sex-related scandals and also featured David Letterman, Charlie Sheen, Bill Clinton, and David Duchovny.

I guess nothing is off limits!

Elin Will Not Attend Tiger's Event Today

Feb 19, 2010 07:09 AM

elinnotattending.jpg Pro golfer Brad Faxon told the Dennis and Callahan radio show that Tiger's wife Elin Nordegren will not be attending his press conference at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida this morning, but Michael Jordan will! Faxon said, "I know Michael Jordan's going to be there. I know Elin is not going to be there."

Tiger and the basketball legend are very close, so it makes sense that he'd be there to support him, but don't you think Elin should be there too? Maybe Faxon is wrong? We'll find out in less than an hour...
