Gossip Girl Spin-off: Coming This Spring!
Well, the pilot episode anyway!
According to Entertainment Weekly, The CW has announced that a pilot for the Gossip Girl spin-off has been greenlit, and it will be hitting the small screen on May 11! The spin-off has not yet been picked up as a full series, but this sounds pretty promising!
The show will be a prequel, and rather than following Jenny (Taylor Momsen), as many people initially speculated, it will follow Serena's mother, Lily Van Der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford). The show will focus on Lily's life as a troubled teenager growing up in Los Angeles in the 1980s. Lily apparently moves out of her wealthy parents' home in Montecito to live with her sister in the Valley, she (gasp!) attends public school and of course, she gets caught up in the Hollywood party life.
Wonder if Lily had any Serena style party habits? Guess we'll have to wait a few months to find out!
