Gwyneth Paltrow Battled Postpartum Depression
In the May issue of Vogue, Gwyneth Paltrow discusses her struggle with postpartum depression after giving birth to her second child, Moses, in 2006.
"I felt really out of my body," Paltrow told Vogue. "I felt really disconnected. I felt really down...I felt pessimistic.” She goes on to state, “I didn’t know I had it until after it was over...I just didn’t know what was wrong with me."
In addition to Moses, 2, Paltrow, 35, has a 4 year old daughter, Apple with hubby and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
Kudos to Gwyneth for publicly talking about an issue like post-partum depression - several other Hollywood moms, including Brooke Shields have discussed their struggles with the illness as well.
