GPALTROWAPPLE042807_01.jpgGwyneth Paltrow GPALTROWAPPLE042807_22.jpgGwyneth indroduced her young daughter to one of the finer things in LA - shopping! Gwyneth took Apple to pick through the racks at Maxfield's on Melrose on a sunny Saturday. Wonder if Gwynnie picked up a designer blanket for her daughter's third birthday next month?

GPALTROWAPPLE042807_06-1.jpgGuess those creepy eyebrows really were just drawn on!

GPALTROWAPPLE042807_17.jpgIsn't she a little old for the bottle?

GPALTROWAPPLE042807_36.jpgWhat's the strangest thing about this pic?

Gwyneth's been in LA for awhile now...is she back in the U.S.A. for good now?

Please give the child at least a sippy-cup!

second!!! she is a cuttie

Posted by: Anonymous

Almost three and still using a baby bottle?? What terrible parenting!

Posted by: Anonymous

At her age she should most definitely not be using a bottle....especially not out in public. Maybe the bottle is Moses' and Apple was just carrying it?

Posted by: Anonymous

Wow. I guess when you leave the parenting to nannies and strangers they don't get rid of the bottle. What a lousy parent.

Posted by: Britney Spears

OK the kid is almost three and sucking a bottle?? IF that were BRITNEY, people would want to call DSS cause she would be a bad mother, and then NOT holding the kids hand going into the PARKING LOT again in that were BRITNEY DSS would be on their way to her home!! SO you tell me is every mother perfect and is Britney really really that bad (lord knows she not perfect).

Posted by: Anonymous

A bottle versus driving with your kid in your lap????? Let's see... which ones worse? LOL

Posted by: Jamie

My little boy has been off the bottle since he was 1 1/2!! Time to get rid of it Gwyneth...she's WAY too old for it!

Posted by: Wanda

This is no worse then stupid arse parents who let there kids have pasifiers till their 5 years old.

Posted by: Lisa

Apple is IMO one of the cutest celeb babies out there. The reason Gwyenth is still in the US is because she's filming a movie in Los Angeles.

Posted by: DL

I had a client who is very wealthy and her child was 10 years old still sucking on a bottle. What do you say? She and her husband were my best clients but to see a ten year old girl still sucking a bottle made me want to gag. The girls around 17 now and in high school so for sake of teasing from classmates, I hope she finally stopped.

Baby girl is soooooo cute :)

I hope all of you who criticized about kid's bottle.. get a cancer. And a life too.. insignificant ignorant worthless average losers.

Posted by: Anonymous

She looks great....her apple looks great too!! Would love to take a bite of it ;)

Posted by: Anonymous

Children this young should not be photographed by the Paparazzi.

Posted by: Anonymous

My sons doctor flipped when I told her my then 2 year old was still on the bottle. He's almost three now and has been off it for months now with NO problem. This kid is in serious need of a sippy cup. She's risking crooked teeth and tooth decay. Her daughter is beautiful. It would be nice if her mother put her in an outfit that actually fits her!

Posted by: Anonymous

why does she have pink leggings/tights on in one picture but none of the others????

Posted by: Maddison

Apple will be in first grade with that bottle. That's terrible. I bet she still has a diaper on.

Posted by: ella

In some countries/cultures children stay on the tit until 5 or 6 so I guess if she wants to drink from a bottle then it's not MY (or anyone elses for that matter) business. Maybe she is in a regressive phase, children do that. You know you think you have them potty trained and then for no reason at all the just insist on pooping them selves. You'll have that.

Posted by: your an idiot

This is still a baby you asswipes. She isn't even 3 years old yet. No wonder kids today are growing up too fast. What you think she should be performing blowjobs by now too?

Posted by: amara

The blowjob statement was uncalled for. However, when you have two children close together it is very difficult to get the older one off of the bottle. It could even be a cup, which parents use to keep the child from splashing their drinks in public. Even after a child is potty trained you still put diapers on them for a while when you're in public. So please explain how this makes the vile Gwyneth a bad parent. I do dislike her and think she is an asswipe of a snob.

Posted by: Kizzy

What's the big deal? The big deal is, besides risking crooked baby teeth, she's risking deforming the adult ones as well, it's not just the teeth, it's the bone structure. Also, generally, when children demonstrate regressive behavior, or are not weaned at a developmentally beneficial time, it's because they lack the ability to self-soothe, and regardless of the amount of time the mother spends with the child, the child feels the need for further nurturing.

If a mother lets a child nurse til the age of 5 or 6 for reasons other than nutrition, is screwing up her child's development, and just asking for harder than usual development transition periods. It's called lazy parenting, people! It's a lot easier to give in to the child's demands than it is to teach them otherwise, and delaying it only makes it that much harder.

Posted by: Anonymous

If she's old enough to walk...she's old enough for a cup.....if she needs to suck, get her a straw!!! Also, that brown dress she's wearing.....it's a woman's top from Old Navy...I have it! Obviously in an extra small....but still !!! I guess Maxfield's doesn't have children's clothes....

Posted by: Anonymous

Also....get rid of that "blankie".....it's probably been dragged all over the store and all over the ground....and then she puts it in her hand and next to her face....DISGUSTING!

Posted by: Team Gwyneth

That's not a bottle morons. It's a plastic container to drink out of like adults use. It looks nothing like a bottle. Look at the size of it! How could a baby even hold something that size?

Posted by: Anonymous

She needs to see an eye doctor, sooner than later, to get her lazy eye fixed. Not a criticism, just a critical observation.
She will thank her parents later....

Posted by: DR BAKER DDS

KIZZY, YOU COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG. DRINKING FROM A BOTTLE UP TO THE AGE OF 90 IS NOT GOING TO DEFORM THE MOUTH, GUMS OR BONE IN ANYWAY. CONSTANT SUCKING AS WITH A PACIFIER, (DAY AND NIGHT) WILL THOUGH.

Posted by: mimi

Apple looks happy to me. What's the problem. A bottle and blanket a 3, BFD. You know it alls on this board act like, she left her child alone, while she snorted coke for three days. Get a grip.

Posted by: Anonymous

I"m curious as to how many of these so called "child rearing experts" posting on here actually have children?

Yeah, thats what I thought.

Posted by: Anonymous

Love the blowjob post point of view :) but hey, might that give her buck teeth too?

Posted by: Anonymous

She doesn't dress her cute at all.

Posted by: Britney Spears

I just think it is great how everyone is so fast to defend this woman and so fast to call social services on Britney. Driving on her lap as opposed to letting you kid walk out into the parking lot with out holding its hand. WHATEVER it just goes to show everyone judge other peoples behavior based on who they are not what they are doing ya'll. Peace and Love

Posted by: Shazaaaam

I would not call her child having a bottle(and yes, that is a bottle, you can cleary see the nipple in one of the pics.) bad parenting, I would call it a bad parenting choice at best. Anyone who has had children would have an opinion on whether or not it is a bad thing. I will 100% agree with ella..many first children regress with bottles and potty training when a sibling is introduced into the family...The blow job comment was really uncalled for. Apple does look happy, she does not look beaten, malnourished, or filthy and uncared for. How many times have you seen Gwyneth flash her junk all over, puking in parking lots after drinking, making out with a different man each week, or swapping clothes with strippers? I think the bad parenting is a really bad choice of words...think before you speak.

Posted by: Anonymous

That's right, I called social services on Britney, and I'm not ashamed! I would do it again.

Posted by: Anonymous

I'm sure she is a darling child in person, but do you folks really think she is "beautiful"? Every time I see her lately I can't help thinking she looks like a street urchin out of Dickens. They've lived too long in England, I guess. Stay in LA, Gwynnie - your kids will get better dental work there!

Posted by: Anonymous

Oh no its the end of the world there is a child that is actually woth her celebrity parent instead of with a nanny and she has a bottle, good lord what has this mother done she must be a horrible parent because of it. right you people are cold hearted. Gwen your daughter is beautiful!

Posted by: Sheelz

Wow, I guess anyone with an opinion that differs from another's opinion is subject to name calling and disgusting comments, i.e. moron and the blow-job comment (you sicko). I have four children, they were all off the bottle by 18 months. That was THEIR choice. I introduced the sippy between 6-9 months and they prefered that to a bottle after a year old or so. My children also had binkies, but after 2 years old, they only had them for naps and bedtime. They weren't allowed to take them bye bye or have them during the day. If she wants to give her daughter a bottle, that's her choice. I do believe she shouldn't walk around with one tho, especially out and about shopping. Any pediatrician will tell you that sucking on a bottle will rot the teeth. The milk sugars sit and coat the teeth, causing cavities and rot which will eventually affect the permanent teeth. I learned this from my son drinking juice. He had cavities at a young age and it was explained to me by his doctor and dentist that milk and juice do the same damage (although juice is worse). As for the blanket, all my children were blankie babies. I've replaced them when they have become threadbare/stained/raggedy. They loved and slept with the new blankie, but the old one had to stay as well. It had it's place on the bed. My 7 year old still sleeps with his (thankfully it doesn't have to go anywhere with us, just stays on his bed) and I still have my oldest two boys' blankies and they are 16 and 12. My 16 year old hung his on his bedroom wall. I dare anyone to call me a bad parent!!! My children are healthy, well adjusted, athletic, doing great in school and they have a lot of friends. Of course, my kids don't have paparazzi chasing them daily for mugshots...just their camera-wielding MOM!!!

Posted by: Shayla

She is much too old to have a bottle.

Posted by: Kizzy

I call shenanigans on the DDS, you couldn't be more full of baloney yourself!! How does one drink from a bottle? BY SUCKING ON IT. Constant sucking can cause the incisors to turn outward, and if you WERE a legitimate dentist, you'd know that turning the teeth in that manner is NOT a good thing.

Anonymous, if I had not seen it for myself in the friends and classmates of my own 2 girls, I would not have commented.

Posted by: Anonymous

Brits don't have any worse teeth than Americans. It's just the Americans tend to bleach theirs every other week.

Posted by: Anonymous

Beautiful little girl, the blanket and the bottle should have been gone long ago, it may be because she's left with nannies so often?

Probably no-one's going to read this far but in a society where almost everyone seems to be constantly sucking on their water bottles or a coffee sippy cup, I don't see how we can be too judgemental. Though, my first thought was also Three? and still using a bottle? Tut tut

Posted by: baseballmom

She's a beautiful little girl. I always take a second look when a child her age walking around with a bottle, but can't say I judge the parenting. I had my son off the bottle at 11 months, he never had a binkie or a cavity, but he is getting braces!
My boyfriend nursed until he was 4 years old! (and yes, I do think that's kind of strange...)

Posted by: Mom to Aidan 6.$ yrs

My son was weaned from pacifier at 2.5 close to 3, and he is A student, plays amazing soccer, and is socially brilliant, in the first grade! Go Gwennie!

Apples eyes are not straight.

Bless this little girl. She will be able to see these comments when sh'e older and probably think the world is a horrible place and perhaps become as horribe as the people who are judging her and her mum. I hope she never has to read any of these comments and that people would just stop and think of the damage that your words can do. Why not say something uplifting? I hope that nobody is as nasty as this to your children / family, and I really hope that you will learn sooner than later that words can have a worse impact than a bullet. Leave this innocent girl and her mum alone! They went shopping, she's having a drink.

Posted by: Kitt

Oh please, this page will be long gone by the time Apple trades her sippy cup for a Bacardi...and unless she has genius reading skills and mommy allows her to surf the net unattended while still a toddler, she will never see these comments.

People have different opinions on when to wean from the bottle. Live and let live.

Have a hubby that the whole world desires?

That's not a shirt from Old Navy! Actually the dress is from Chick Chat, this really cute and comfy line of girls' clothing. My daughters love it. www.chickchatclothes.com

Posted by: Anonymous

i used the bottle until i was 3.she i's not the only one. maybe she use it sometimes not so often as you belive. And i don't think you can judge a mother for the this fact!

Posted by: Anonymous

At the end of the day, Kitt, you have just contradicted yourself. The fact that you have stated 'live and let live' is the irony of all ironies. Perhaps you should take heed of your own words and stand up for this mother and her vulnerable child. Free speech is one thing, but hoping that Apple will not be able (not certain) to read this or members of her extended family who probably do surf the net is another. Kit, I'm sure you wouldn't wish the girl any harm, but surely, if this were your sister - you would not like to see messages like this about her - especially if she were 3. There's so many people who want to point the finger here - all I am saying is that bullying is wrong no matter what medium you're speaking through (internet, phone, mouth). Everyone deserves to live without this hostility towards them. Including you, and including me. The fact that we have different opinions on weening children isn't the issue here. The issue is that the comments are vicious, hostile, corrupt and in some cases totally abusive.

Posted by: annie6283

^If you can't handle different opinions, including 'hostile or vicious' ones, perhaps this forum isn't for you.

I agree Apple's eyes are kinda weird and she is a bit old for the bottle. She is still a pretty little girl though.

Posted by: Maria Madalena - SP, Brazil

In poor countries, when men don´t wont to get married, women get pregnant.

Maybe she is not American...

Maybe.

Posted by: Anonymous

Or perhaps Annie, your inability to handle different opinions and respect for difference 'eyes kinda wierd' means that you should be looking for a new forum as well as lobbying for all slightly disabled people to be kept locked up?

One last thought, if you want to stand up for 'viscious, hostile' viewpoints, then that's your choice, but there are a few of us on here who stand up for what's right.

Posted by: Alice

This kid should be at the kindergarden, not chasing around doing nothing!

Future is today. Who guarantee you that she will be a movie star?

Dont look at yourself only.

Posted by: Anonymous

Perhaps it's not too abd to have 'kinda wierd eyes' annie, as there are many of us who are partially sighted.

Posted by: Anonymous

'bad' sorry, that was a mistake - if you will pardon me.

Posted by: Anonymous

GO GWYNNIE - YOU ARE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB AT RAISING YOUR FAMILY! IGNORE ALL OF THE JEALOUS PEOPLE ON HERE WHO NEED HELP (IN THEIR OWN WAY!) WE THINK YOU'RE DOING A STORMING JOB - BOTH YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Posted by: Marion

I'm astonished to read your despising comments about the bottle. In France we don't make such a big deal, lots of kids keep the bottle until 3. This is a DETAIL in education, many issues are more important than that (TV and Mc DOnalds for example)

Posted by: SAndy

This kid is way toooo old to still be sucking on a bottle! Very surprised at Gwyn for allowing this!

Posted by: Syawi

OHMYGOD. You people can be so evil and mean! Do you find criticizing other people make you feel better about yourselves?

Seriously, people. You can't just say the kid is ugly, for God's sake, it's not her fault! What do you want her parents to do - Give her a face lift? And the most ridiculous comment I read here was the one about Apple shouldnt be running around doing nothing- she should be in Kindergarten. How stupid is that? You don't even know what time or day these photos were taken! Would you be sending your kid to kindergarten 24 hours a day, for every day of the week?

That's what I thought.

Think before you make stupid, idiotic comments and make fools out of yourselves.

Posted by: Syawi

Ps. Apple is gorgeous.

Posted by: Florence

MY GOD! You're just too silly to do any comment on gwynnie. What the hell DO YOU MATTER IF SHE IS SUCKING A BOTTLE OR NOT? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT WHAT HAPPENNED THAT DAY? just think a little bit more, cause you guys are definately fucked. STOP CRITIZICING! I'm sure that half of the ones who talk about your children have left their bottle when they were 4.. or even more, my little siter does it now and she is 2 and a half, IS THERE ANY PROBLEM?

Posted by: Alexis

Please, she's a child. If she likes the bottle, let her enjoy! There are more important issues in the world. The child seems happy. It's great Gwyneth and family is taking time to raise their own child. Get a life and stop moaning about sippy cups!

Posted by: Alexis

Sorry, are taking time.

Posted by: sukie

screw the bottle debate - let's get back to the magically appearing-and-disappearing leggings. how'd they do that?

I think Apple is adorable - I think she would be even more adorable if her mother fixed her hair. It doesn't take long to put it up into a cute little ponytail!!

Posted by: Annie6283

Belated reply to the Anonymous Coward who posted on May 2nd at 10:17am: You're the one who can't handle different opinions. That's why you need to go around playing moral minority, putting words into other posters' mouths, and harassing anyone whose viewpoint you don't agree with. Funny how you get so worked up over negative comments about a celebrity's child but wishing cancer on people is apparently ok. I never said I agree with the opinions here but I do I value free speech enough to tolerate different opinions including 'vicious' or 'hostile' ones. Also, next time post under your real name, you cowardly asshole.
