the baby is gorgeous.You can't tell from the pic. the exact color if her eyes. She might be still breastfed which can result in blue-grey eyes. Also, blue eyes are a recessive trait- whoch means, if Gabriel has the supressed genetic info for it, and Halle too, since she is half white, herself, the baby can have blue eyes. And finally, eye color and nose are the most complicated features when it comes to genes, that a lot of things remain coincidence and complication... Hope this answers the question. When one parent has green eyes and another has brown, its a high chance of the child having blue. My son is in the same situation. Not all babies are born with blue eyes my daughter's eyes were brown when she was born and my kids were born with full heads of black hair that lighten over time. Babies can hold their heads up by five months my oldest was walking by eight months all babies develope on their own time schedules...genetics can throw you curve balls...me and my husband are blonds and we have brown hair kids... two with extremely white skin and two olive... all have different shades of brown eyes. Oh yeah and to me they are the most beautiful children in the world as I'm sure most mothers feel that way...I actually think it sad that Halle and all the other Hollywood Mom's are followed all the time ... Halle has always wanted to be mother and now she is. It's obvious from photo that she is happy and has a happy baby. As for the baby's race, why can't we just leave this alone. No matter what the race, the baby is beautiful, as are all babies. They are gifts from God and he does not have a problem with race and neither should we. I have a beautiful bi-racial granddaughter that I love more than anything in this world. to leah, you asked how the baby ended up with blue eyes. halle has a mother who is white with blue eyes. just because halle is biracial and she has brown eyes doesn't mean she can't children with eyes that are blue or green. Just like my biracial child. i am black with reddish-brown skin tone and brown hair, my son's is lighter than halle's daughter and has huge, soft thick jet black curls and dark eyes, his father is a natural blonde (straight hair)with blue eyes and very tan skin, but he told me that he is italian-ameican descent on his mothers side. and it shows in my son. people look at pic of a old boyfriend from college that is from italy and he's gets mistaken for my son's father all the time. i havent seen him sicne the 90s ,while my son was concieved in 2001 and born in 2002..anywho, like someone mentioned genetics plays a big part. my son looks nothing like me but considering that deep in my genetic make up is lots of enthic backgrounds , i wasn't surprised how he came out looking.
