Heath's Insurance Doesn't Want to Pay

Wow, this is really sad...

Heath Ledger's insurance company is refusing to pay $10 million dollars to his 2-year-old daughter Matilda because the company says he died under "suspicious circumstances."

The company also wants Mary-Kate Olsen to tell them what she knows about Heath's death!

Lawyers for Heath's estate are now suing the insurance company, ReliaStar Life, a subsidiary of ING Americas, accusing the company of bad faith and snooping into Heath's life.

The New York Post is reporting that the insurance company is looking into the possibility that Heath took his own life, which would mean the company would be off the hook for the $10 Mil. The NY medical examiner ruled that Heath died of an accidental overdose of prescription medication.

The insurance company isn't commenting on the suit.

We hope this gets cleared up soon.

How long was this particular life insurance policy in place? My understanding is that if it had been in place for a number of years, they have to honor it regardless of whether the insured committed suicide or not.

Ah well. Maybe stay realistic about these things. Sad it is that he died. But any unknown civilian would have and has the same problem with their insurance company in a similar situation. And usually the surviving parent isn't a millionaire like Michelle Williams is. So why make a drama about money. Little Matilda will never be in poverty.

this is where it is all leading to scientist, doctors, and nurses no longer have the say in patient care. insurance companies tell everyone what they can have performed what will be payed for and it is about time so one steps in and says wheres your medical degree
