Without star Heath Ledger, you might think that production on The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus might not be happening - but, as they say, the show must go on!

Actor Christopher Plummer - who would have been Heath's co-star in The Imaginarium - told People yesterday that the film's legendary director Terry Gilliam is fighting tooth and nail to save the project!

"Terry's throwing himself into the job of trying to salvage the picture," Plummer said.

The actor went on to speculate that, since magic plays a substantial role in the film's story, that Gilliam might be able to use CGI as a way to get around Heath's absence.

Plummer also confirmed that Heath hadn't been feeling well on set, opining that the actor might have had "walking pneumonia" and claimed Heath weas "saying all the time 'dammit, I can't sleep'...and he was taking all these pills". Plummer further speculates that Heath neglected to treat his illness with antibiotics, possibly leading to his untimely demise.

At least it sounds like Heath's last days were spent happily - Plummer told People that the actor "was in very high spirits. He was just enjoying himself tremendously."
