I doubt he killed his self, probably OD'ed on sleep medicine while he was sick

I'm sure Jack's comment portrays his frustration of losing such a talented young man. It's horrible to know people are in trouble and playing with fire (drugs) and you can't do much about it.

Warning someone who is in the throes of addiction/depression doesn't help much, unfortunately.

I think he was a fabulous actor people need to quit coming to conclusions and let the man rest in peace. Everything our public is annoncing could one day be seen by his daughter. So have a little respect for his family.

I saw the video where he says that, and he starts to laugh and joke with the photographers afterward! He didn't seem very concerned even though he said "that's sad..." AND the photographers DID tell Jack that Heath overdosed...so that could change why he said "I warned him!" I don't know It's just so sad! :(

WCBS in New York is reporting that drug packets were found inside the actor's SoHo Apartment, as well as a $20 bill with narcotic residue.

Several drug packets containing an unknown substance were found listed on the official police report from the scene.

It is possible that these items didn't belong to Ledger or that he didn't ingest them on the day of his death, but several reports have stated that Heath had been battling sobriety recently.

In addition to the unknown substances, several bottles of prescription meds were discovered in Ledger's apartment, including bottles of the prescription anxiety drugs Valium and Zoloft, along with the prescription sleeping medication Ambien.

This might be another Anna Nicole Smith.

If Jack saw this coming, he must be really sad in an ironic way. Poor Heath.

How about poor Matilda Rose? She is the one who loses the most in this situation. He has been arrested for drug possession before, he knew had a problem, yet he didn't deal with it. I feel for the people around him who are now left to pick up the pieces, especially the smallest innocent victim.

They said he had a prescription for Ambien. One of the side effects of Ambien is that it can make you black out and that makes you susceptible to accidental overdose because you don't remember taking earlier pills. Maybe he blacked out and took one pill too many accidentally.

you don't have to be addicted to any drugs for a prescription drug to kill you, a bad combination of prescription drugs or combined with sickness or just taking that little bit extra to get to sleep could do it....my sister took the same sleeping tablets(ambien or stillnox as it's called in Australia) and we couldn't wake her up either, we had to smash the window outside her room to get in and called an ambulance, she was not very coherent even when the ambulance arrived, luckily she didn't die, but she couldn't recall any of it afterwards either, it is a dangerous drug that should be banned !!!

One does not have to be an addict to be a victim of the monumental greed and arrogance of the pharmaceutical industry's dangerous pills that are still out there (FOR NOW), until there's enough outcry about the shameful toxic crap that's so pervasively and heavily marketed as 'healing', 'helpful', soothing or whatever. (Not just Ambien). Although of course we don't know exactly what physiological events led to Health's death (and shame on you 'assumers' who are crying 'drug addict', 'he loved cocaine more than himself' etc., especially in the light of the absence of any illegal drugs in his apt.!), I still would wager that the (oh-so-prevalent) use of harmful, risky, non-healing and problem-CAUSING 'legal', 'legitimate', common drugs -- Ambien to be specific in this case -- were a factor, maybe even a primary one, in his tragic death. We can't know yet, but... Well, it's too bad we live in a society that is so #%!@#ing clueless, for the most part, about the whole concept of health, balance, healing, and limitations to the 'magic and glory' of 'Modern Medicine'. Exactly. If you had been nearly killed by a pit-bull, say, and had heard of other pit-bull incidents as well, and then an acquaintance of yours told you he was thinkig of buying a pit-bull, and you warned him of your experience; and then you heard he had had his throat ripped out by his new pit-bull, I bet that along with you saying 'how tragic...!' you might jsut also say, mournfully and frustratingly, "Ah, I warned him..." -- You'd feel bad that he didn't take heed from your own experience. -- Jack's tone sounded more like anger and frustration about the unstemmed danger yet-still-prevalent-use of this insidious drug, and its tragic result (he assumed) in this case, than any 'I told you so' sort of arrogance.

Watch TV for even an hour or two, and you're bombarded by 'ask your doctor about Presumtilax!' or 'Deathilax!' Or 'Tummisolve'! Etc.

Heath sounds like he was a truly good, loving person, in addition to being a promising, exceedingly talented and audacious actor. No need to blame him for trusting his doctors, these were PRESCRIPTIONS. (Again, I don't know the facts either. But I betcha those pills were a big factor... trusted, legal pills.)

the role of the joker was psychotic and crazy. his mind was still running and therefor only got 2 hours of sleep a night. playing a role like that causes emotional problems and its sad heath didnt have help. :[
