Is Us Weekly In Bed With Heidi And Spencer??? - Source At Us Says No!

It has seemed painfully obvious to us - after a few too many covers and double-page spreads on the couple - that Heidi and Spencer likely have a deal with Us Weekly.

Star Mag points to a blind item in the New York Daily News (April 20), that read:

    "Which weekly glossy just signed a megamillion-dollar contract with a certain annoying celebrity couple? The deal is, the magazine will get exclusive interviews with the couple, but in turn, they need to break up (again), get back together (again) and actually get married."

These kids must be raking it in! They're obviously getting a cut of the "exclusive" photos they pose for AND they're on Wenner's payroll?!

Hey, with Britney back on track, Lindsay laying relatively low, and Paris being a good girl, the mags have gotta find their new "thing" -- but did it really have to be these two?

And if Us Weekly's paying off The Hills couple, where does that put Viacom's relationship with the mag -- that's a whole lotta free publicity!

UPDATE! - Just got off the line with a source from Us Weekly and I'm told there is DEFINITELY NO DEAL between the annoying celebrity couple and the mag. Source says "it's a mutually beneficial relationship" and that one of their Heidi covers was a top-selling issue. The Heidi-Spencer monster is outta control and America loves them AND loves to hate them!

I didnt renew my subscription for this exact reason. Every article about Heidi & Spencer on usmagazine.com is followed by hundreds of people commenting that they don't care and they are not going to renew their subscription when it is up. It is ridiculous, nobody wants to read about them. This picture only has the ones where they are the cover story, there are many many more where they are in the upper corner or on the right side. There is nothing worse than getting your magazine and seeing Heidi and Spencer or Lauren Conrad on the cover. They even gave Audrina like two pages to defend that long-haired boyfriend of hers. I hate Us Weekly because of this shit.

I don't believe Us Weekly has a deal with Heidi and Spencer but they definately have one with The Hills. Lauren Conrad has done several covers too. But I think it's incredibly stupid and hyprocritical for X17 to call out a magazine for doing something that do. X17 hasn't tried to hide the fact they have some kind of an agreement with Britney Spears and Sam Lufti.
