Someone like Johnny Depp who is *hot hot hot* deserves all the good things in life and who donates,(actually donates,not just "signs" some fake cd through a gossip site and it "auctions it off") is an awesome. awesome person.

That means SHIT to me! this type of donation equals a payment to his daughter saviour!! I'd give him so merit if he'd donate his 2.000.000 bucks to the cure of cancer (not related to him)! This one reminds me of Christopher Reeve, who donated his life earning to help the cure of paralysis (figure out why!!).

People give to cause that affects or has affected them. Great Ormond St relies a lot on donations and most come from those who have had need of the hospital.
People can't donate to every single charity out there or feel sympathetic to all of them so choose ones that mean something to them.
It's his money and his choice and a good one.
The fact you started your comment with "that means SHIT to me" shows why you don't or can't get it.
I'm guess your the type of person thats doesn't care one bit for other peoples beliefs or causes yet would be the first to cry when you feel that someone doesn't care one iota about your beliefs or choices.

Besides this, he gives lots to charities anonymously, which is why he doesn't appear on the "top donators" lists the way many celeb publicity hounds do. And you know he would have had to pay cash for little Lily's hospital bills in renal - can you imagine the astronomical cost of that? The Sweeney Todd producers also thanked the GOSH staff and MDs at the end of the movie's credits.

Yes he does give a lot to charities, he's very talented, handsome, and generous, he is truly is the greatest.

GOSH has a charity section for extra funding on top of NHS funding, but the treatment is free. Especially in an emergency situation like what he went through.
If you try to scam the NHS then a foreigner would have to pay like the woman from America in the 80's that flew over to have her baby delivered free. The NHS found out and as she got on the plane back slapped her with a bill for the cost. But thats rare.

Just read from a british website it's £1millon not $2million. The dollar is so weak.
