There was a bomb alert at that airport, so that explains the tight security.

Actually, when we were in France last year, the dudes with huge guns were all over the place in Paris. As we waited at the Eiffel Tower, there were many of them walking around and we wondered if we should perhaps not go up the Eiffel Tower :o)

Too bad you really didn't check your information. There had been a bomb scare at that airport that justin flew into which is why there was a guard near him. Also armed guards in European airports are common.

There are almost always armed guards in the Charles de Gualle airport and at the Eiffel Tower. They weren't there for Justin.

anyone who has ever been to france would know that these guards are everywhere train stations, eifel tower, museums and yes even the airport.
