Despite being nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy, there is a very good chance that Emmy winner Katherine Heigl will not show up to receive her award (if she wins, that is)!
Due to the ongoing writer's strike (which is surpassing 40 days now), it's unclear whether or not the WGA will grant a waiver to the Golden Globes.
If they choose not to grant a waiver, writers will most certainly picket the event, and it's likely that several actors (particularly the ones who have been most vocally supportive of the writers, like Katherine, here on the picket lines Thursday) will refuse to cross the picket lines.
Hopefully, the networks and studios will return to the negotiating table soon, granting us a reprieve from reality shows like Celebrity Apprentice!
