Britney And K-Fed's Weekend Retreat? Oh PLEASE!
Did Britney Spears and Kevin Federline enjoy a romantic Easter rendezvous? Put it this way - there's a better chance Britney saw the Easter Bunny last weekend than Kevin!
The Star kicked off a minor flurry of activity this morning when they reported that Britney and K-Fed saw each other over the recent holiday and raising suspicions that their romance may be on the rebound.
The mag even alleged that Kevin was ready to whisk Britney away on a vacation - just the two of them! "Kevin wants to take Britney away to see if there is anything to salvage between them," a family friend told the Star. "When he suggested it to her, she told him she was ready to go anytime he was."
Well, apparently that must have been a late April Fool's joke - Kevin's rep spoke to Us Magazine earlier today and confirmed that not only the entire story is not true, but that even the picture of the couple accompanying the Star's article is misleading! (The photo, captioned as "Britney and Kevin's Secret Weekend", was actually taken during their 2005 honeymoon in Fiji.)
But don't go ruling a reunion out just yet - Us quotes a source close to K-Fed who claims the rapper "really loves [Britney] and holds a candle for her". Furthermore, X17 spoke to a source who witnessed Britney and Kevin's first meeting since the separation for joint counseling a few months back, and even then their relationship seemed to be on the mend - our source claimed they even looked genuinely happy to see each other!
We really do hope Britney and Kevin are able to settle their scores, if only for the kids' sakes. All we know right now is that it sure didn't happen this weekend!
