Usually Halloween is the night you're out til all hours, but last night Kiefer Sutherland enjoyed a marathon five-hour dinner with pals at Madeo, stumbling out of the restaurant at 1am!

Kiefer and his friends closed down the restaurant, moving to the patio to enjoy a few glasses of wine when the staff began to clean up.

That's when Kiefer got silly, making faces at the camera and and fake-punching his male friend.

When they left Madeo at around 1am, Kiefer had to be helped into his chauffeured car, but looked as if he had had a very happy night, indeed!

Hey, at least Kiefer's got a driver!

Uh oh! Last night X17 photogs caught Kiefer Sutherland leaving El Bar on Barham at 3am, and eyewitness inside the bar tell X17online that the troubled actor (who went to jail early last year for his second DUI) was drinking beer the entire night! One source inside the bar told us, "Kiefer was jovial, and he knew a lot of people in the bar...it seemed like he was a regular here!"

Thankfully, the recovering alcoholic had a driver and he went home with a male pal, but eek! We're kinda worried about the 24 star...hopefully he's keeping his drinking under control! Then again, a Corona never hurt anyone, and as long as everyone's having fun (and NOT getting into bar brawls or headbutting fashion designers!), it's all good, right?

What's with that big smile on Jack Bauer's face? Well, he was celebrating the fact that designer Jack McCollough (you know, the guy he allegedly head-butted in a bizarre attempt to protect Brooke Shields?) decided to drop the charges against him!

Wouldn't YOU be smiling if you avoided jail time for the second time in two years?

Kiefer Sutherland is so over protecting Brooke Shields - and getting charged with misdemeanors in the process - and instead going back to that other thing he does: acting! See how happy (and harmless) he looks here at the Wadsworth Theater in Westwood last night promoting his show? SUCH a good actor.

Yesterday afternoon, Kiefer Sutherland showed up to the 1st Precinct in lower Manhattan to turn himself in, and he was booked on one count of misdemeanor assault and issued an appearance citation. Sutherland was released on his own recognizance, and he will be allowed to travel prior to his June 22 arraignment.

As you know, Kiefer allegedly headbutted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at a party earlier this week, after the actor believed that McCollough had bumped into Brooke Shields. Hey, he was just trying to be a hero! Er...

The misdemeanor assault charge isn't going to be the problem for Kiefer though - if prosecutors in Los Angeles decide that the 24 star has violated his probation (stemming from his 2007 DUI), he could face up to 10 months in the slammer!

Kiefer Sutherland turned himself into police in New York City Thursday afternoon where he was given a desk-appearance ticket for allegedly headbutting Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at a party earlier this week.

Wearing an overcoat to protect from a light drizzle and dressed in a light blue button down oxford shirt and blue jeans, Kiefer smiled at the media gathered around as he made his way inside Manhattan's 1st Precinct.

Since he wasn't charged with a felony, the 24 star can travel and will not be held in custody.

Neither Sutherland, nor his attorney made any statements about the charges.

Kiefer Sutherland will surrender to authorities as early as today to be booked on charges he assaulted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at a party in New York City on Monday night.

Sutherland will be charged with third-degree assault, for allegedly headbutting the designer.

A friend of the 24 star told the NY Daily News Kiefer regrets the incident.

"Kiefer is sorry. It happened. Absolutely. It's terribly regrettable," the friend said.

However, the friend isn't backing down from his allegations that McCollough started the altercation.

"Kiefer was provoked," the friend insists.

While the charges are described as "minor," it's not clear if Sutherland's latest legal problems will after the scheduled start of filming for 24's upcoming 8th season.

Don't mess with Jack Bauer! Especially if he's had a drink or two!

Kiefer Sutherland reportedly headbutted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at a party following Monday night's Costume Institute Gala, according to the New York Daily News.

The altercation was reportedly sparked after the designer pushed Brooke Shields. Kiefer demanded an apology (apparently he was trying to protect her honor) and when McCollough refused, that's when things got physical.

Now here's the strange part, some reports say that McCollough and Brooke are actually great friends (she's often seen wearing Proenza Schouler on the red carpet) and that Kiefer's actions are just plain nuts! Brooke's peeps are even defending McCollough saying it was a big misunderstanding and that "nothing happened to her."

McCollough, for his part, is claiming that Kiefer was "drunk and acting obnoxious and wouldn't back down or be logical."

It's apparently well known around Hollywood that Kiefer can be kind of a hot-head when he's had a few too many.

So what's the deal? Cops are going to have to figure that out. They're expected to interview all the parties involved by the end of the week.

Well he's been a star for a long time, but now he's finally got one officially!

The 24 actor received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday - it's about time! - and was joined by friends and family to celebrate, including his screen legend father Donald Sutherland. Aw! So nice that Donald could see his son get a star of his own. Talk about an important bonding moment!

We caught the 24 star outside Cheetah's - a strip club - in the middle of some seriously deep conversation. Looks like Kiefer had been partying pretty hearty before we got there - although we don't even wanna guess what caused that stain on his pants!

After over fifteen years, the Flatliners co-stars may be getting back together -- on screen, that is.

Star says that 24's Sutherland may be making entering his final day as Jack Bauer, and that Kiefer wants to "go out with a bang by nabbing big stars like Julia."

I guess after so many years, four marriages and four children between them, he can forgive a little thing her leaving him at the altar to run off with his best friend.

What IS the allure of Kiefer Sutherland??? I've never figured it out ... even when he was supposedly "hot" circa Flatliners (if you're old enough to remember that movie), I just never got it. I mean, is he cute?
