I don't think they're going for dumb laughs, people forget that in the 80s that was considered to be highly fashionable. And since the women are considred to be highly fashionable during the present day, the same can be said for their style in the 80s. SATC is not a film in the same category as You Don't Mess With the Zohan to do ANYTHING for a laugh.

She definitely looks like she's in the 80's, as a child of the 80's, people use to dress like that, styled their hair like that and their make up was sometimes way more heavier than what she is wearing. My mother use to wear 4 different eye shadows, mascara, liner on the bottom lid of her eyes... today we would think that they were in drag but back then that was the style.... I can't wait to see this movie!!!!!
