We already knew Leighton Meester would star opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in Love Don't Let Me Down, and it looks like the Gossip Girl starlet is super excited about the country tune she's recording for the film's soundtrack! Earlier today Leighton tweeted:

Ms. Meester is currently shooting the flick in Nashville, Tennessee, and we're definitely curious to hear her belt it out Carrie Underwood style! Think this would inspire her to pull a Jessica Simpson and put out a country album?

And it looks like she's having a blast! The Gossip Girl starlet chilled out in Miami over New Year's - hey, sounds a lot better than freezing-cold NYC!

Sidebar, I've been listening to Leighton's "Somebody to Love" on repeat the past week. It's starting to grown on me! Maybe she can make it as a singer after all?

Last night Robin Thicke held his album release party at NYC hotspot Butter, and everyone from Leighton Meester to Jay-Z and Beyonce showed up to celebrate.

After performing a few tunes, Robin called the Gossip Girl star up onstage, and the two performed their new single, "Somebody To Love." Leighton looked gorgeous as always, but it appears as though she's begun to adopt a much edgier style. Perhaps to go with her transition from actress to pop star?

'Nuff said! But while Ed, Leighton and Chace all look hot hot hot, we really wanna see what Taylor Momsen wears during the winter!

Hopefully not the black lingerie she's been sporting recently...

Leighton Meester tried to dress all down and dirty at the American Eagle party last night, but today she was back in her "it's freezing cold!" outfit on the Gossip Girl set...

And Blake, those blue pants? Not hot.

Seriously, what's with the Gossip Girl girls dressing so, er, flirtatiously? Cover up! It's cold in NYC. At least Michelle Trachtenberg is keeping it classy.

These two - along with Pete Wentz and Adrian Grenier - attended the American Eagle Flagship Store opening party in Times Square last night... but who looked better showing off the cleavage, Leighton or Blake?

The weather is dreary everywhere this week and New York is no exception, but the Gossip Girl cast - this show is on one big, endless production schedule! - made it out to the set on Tuesday. I actually think Hil looks cute here. I just miss seeing Blake with her real-life beau Penn!

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester debuted the first single off her upcoming album, a duet with Robin Thicke called Somebody To Love yesterday.

The electro-pop track, described as 90s Madonna features Meester's breathy vocals along with Thicke's smooth soulful sounds.

She told Ryan Seacrest, "I really wanted to make something that's completely different from anything that's on the radio right now. I feel like it's really dancy and fun, but it's still laid back and relaxed and moody and sexy."

College begins for the characters of Gossip Girl! Remember what it was like to be an incoming freshman? I do!

Here's the thing about GG: The first season was the best and that's that, but I still watch for one reason only... Blair Waldorf! She's good when she succeeds, but she's even better when she fails. Whaddya think of her being roomies with Georgina Sparks, arguably the other most interesting character on the series?

I dunno if Queen B will ever be queen at college - it's quite a different world than high school! But watching her having to deal with Georgina on a daily basis? Priceless.

Anyone who's anyone is attending fashion week in the Big Apple, and that includes the starlets of Gossip Girl! And not just Taylor Momsen...

We love us some Leighton, but why does she look so livid? Her facial expressions range from annoyed to bitchy (and that's basically the same thing)! Maybe she's worried about all the other CW shows on the new fall lineup?

So rare that we see any member of the Gossip Girl cast NOT in a fancy dress or suit! Ed Westwick (donning a casual sweatshirt) and Leighton Meester (in a hip leather jacket) ran lines on the set of their show earlier today and, despite the fact that we pretty much know all of GG's secrets, we still can't wait to watch!

Eh, this dress would have looked better on someone like Audrina Patridge or Lindsay Lohan, but Hilary Duff looks pretty good too! Who knew little miss Lizzie Mcguire could squeeze into a sexy bandage dress like this?

Anyway, we snapped most of the Gossip Girl stars on location in NYC yesterday, and we also noticed something on Leighton's leg! Was she just being clumsy, or is that bruise some sort of a love bite?!

MTV just released the full version of their take on West Side Story, The VMA Side Story, starring Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Leighton Meester, Cobra Starship and Russell Brand to promote the VMA awards on September 13th.

And while the video is cute and kitschy and all, what we enjoyed the most was funnyman Russell Brand offering to trade Moon Men for sexual favors and shag Lady Gaga!

He might have been a tad inappropriate as the host of the last awards, and from this vid, it doesn't seem like he's turning down his Brand of humor!

There were lots of sexy starlets at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night, but only a select few were able to make it onto our best dressed list.

Hayden Panettiere's pastel pink ruched dress (paired with neutral patent peep toes and flawless makeup) was easily our fav look - we don't think we've ever seen her look so svelte and sophisticated at an event! And on top of that, she took home awards for Choice TV Actress (Action/Adventure) for "Heroes," along with Choice Celebrity Activist, so it was def a good night for her.

Selena Gomez also went the pastel route, and even though her hair was a little bit granny-licious, she looked classy and elegant...and very different from fellow Disney princess Miley Cyrus! Gossip gal Leighton Meester showed off her perfect figure in a striped frock with delicious cherry red patent pumps, and Ashley Tisdale also went the short route and chose a dress that was very reminiscent of one of Jennifer Aniston's recent red carpet picks. Hey, nothing wrong with that - she looked amazing, and we're definitely digging her studded Louboutins!
