Leonardo DiCaprio To Take A "Long Break" From Acting

Jan 21, 2013 10:15 AM

leo-break-from-acting.jpgLeonardo DiCaprio has revealed in a recent interview that he is going to take a break from acting!

The 38-year-old actor told the German newspaper Bild, "I am a bit drained. I'm now going to take a long, long break. I've done three films in two years and I'm just worn out." In addition to Django Unchained with Quentin Tarantino, Leo filmed The Great Gatsby with Baz Luhrmann and over the summer he worked with Martin Scorsese on The Wolf of Wall Street.

While many stars shoot three movies in one year, let's remember that Leo has been in the business since he was a kid (his breakout role was on the 90s sitcom Growing Pains), and he's been nominated for three Oscars, so he'd certainly benefit from a breather!

So what's he going to do now that he has tons of free time? "I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment." Hopefully not on a private jet though! (Hey, he's done it in the past!) "My roof is covered with solar panels," he continues. "My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 31 miles a day. That can be done with a plug."

Leo continued, "I take what I do very seriously when I'm on the set that's all I focus on. So my vice is to hang out with my friends, talk about absolutely nothing of importance and act like a complete idiot. It's like therapy to just be a complete idiot with my friends. I love to have friends over, but I haven't really been home for a year and a half so I don't even remember the last time I did that. I've just done three movies back-to-back, so I'm looking forward to getting back to my house."

He may not have taken home the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (Django Unchained co-star Christoph Waltz beat him out), but Leonardo DiCaprio will always be a winner in our book!

We know it's cheesy, but ever since Titanic Leo's always been our favorite leading man. But why didn't he have a date? Maybe some hot, young model will be meeting up with him at one of the after parties?

Leonardo DiCaprio attended the Django Unchained premiere in New York City last night, and not only was he mobbed by fans and reporters, but that's rapper 50 Cent clinging on to him!

Leo was also joined by co-stars Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson, and director Quentin Tarantino struck a pose with his favorite actress, Uma Thurman. When are these two gonna work together again? I mean, Quentin pretty much quashed those Kill Bill rumors last night when he told reporters, “I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a Kill Bill Vol. 3. We’ll see, probably not though.”

When asked if she could change anything in the world, Seyfried quips, "Dogs would pick up their own poop."

We're sure his heart will go on!

Leonardo DiCaprio and his Victoria's Secret supermodel girlfriend Erin Heatherton have called it quits after nearly a year of dating, a source revealed to Us.

The Great Gatsby star and the blonde bombshell blame their career commitments for the ending of the relationship. "They split a few weeks ago. There's no bad blood - they still care about each other a lot," a source told the mag.

The pair began dating in December of last year, shortly after the A-list actor ended his brief relationship with Blake Lively, but their busy schedules prevented them from spending time together in recent months.
