I don't understand how she was only charged with a misdameanor. I mean, she crashed a vehicle, fled the scene and was drinking under age. And on top of that there was coke in the vehicle. Being a detective, I happen to see a lot. What never fails to amuse me, is how stupid people, (especially socialites and celebrities), can be. It hasn't been a month since Li-Lo's best bud; Paris was busted for DUI. The sad part is, I doubt Lindsey nor Paris will ever learn. It's sad that the spotlight is so blinding they can't see beyond it. I think the only wake-up call they will heed is long, hard, jail time, (45 days for being stupid and 2 to 3 years for the actual offense), or, (God forbid), they kill, permanently disable, or, severely injure someone. As soon as their little empires, (Hilton Hotels), or, wealth is put into jeopardy, they start a PR campaign or file bankruptcy. At least with the new bankruptcy laws they can still be held accountable in some ways. In Lindsey’s case, I hope the judge takes into consideration her past offenses and not only convicts her for the DUI but for the possession as well.

Rehab is an easy out. The courts need to take a tougher stance, dismiss requests for leniency or rehab and start convicting criminals for their offenses regardless of who they are or what social status they have. I wouldn’t be surprised if after the collision, Lindsey’s bodyguard showed up he started destroying evidence attempting to lessen the charges, or, claim he was the operator of the vehicle. I have almost the same charge as Paris, I am lower middle class and got 10 days in jail with 48 hrs of community service. That's a lot lighter than what Paris got and I am scared of alcohol and never want to drive again, even when I can get my license back.
