Lindsay emancipated herself from her mother Dina's authority when she was 14. She offered Dina a monthly payment if Dina would butt out of Lindsay's life and leave her alone. And Dina jumped at it.

So Lindsay's life and career problems, including her longtime alcoholism and dedicated drug abuse, are completely her own fault.

Dina and Michael have stuck their noses into this situation now for their own reasons.

Lindsay won't (can't) change, so she is doomed. Kiss her goodbye while you can still get her attention.

Agreed it's not all Lindsey fault she is this way but it is her RESPONSIBILITY as an adult to act like one and stop pretending that because she was in a movie or two (that she didn't carry solely) that she can have what she wants when she wants and do whatever she wants without consequences. She's made her decisions and now she has to live with what she's done to herslef. Screw whatever her parents did wrong when she was in her teens, she's old enough now to know right from wrong and what will get you places in this life and what will ultimately destroy you.
There are way too many beautiful young talented women out there now and up-and-coming to think Lindsey can hold on to that "freckled faced little darling" of yesteryear. Dakota Fanning is the new preteen and any number of young twenty-somethings have the rest of it nailed down.
Seriously, a major movie director had to write her a repremand of warning because of her on-set antics...thinking she couldn't be touched. Not so.
