they didn't say that she cannot adopt the girl, they said that she cannot adopt her right away! If Madonna really want to adopt this girl she should follow the rules and stay there around a year.

The Material One is so needy. Buying another child will not fulfill her needs. Just because she has $ does NOT mean little Mercy would be better off with her. She should be able to stay in her own culture. BTW - I have seen photos of Mercy and she does not look abused, she looks content and happy! Can you say that about Lourdes or Rocco? Do you ever see them happy? This judge who handed down the ruling should be commended.

Madonna is funding the orphanage where both David and Mercy are housed and others in Malawi..She has given millions to build schools for these children. Also she already supports over 25,000 orphans in Malawi. Jolie and Pitt haven't done that so please don't mention them in the same breath as Madonna.It's horrible that the judge has chosen to make Madonna an example.She is on record as saying she almost gave the clear for Madonna to adopt Mercy.This judge has never known poor.Hope it doesn't backfire-can't think too many others will even attempt to adopt from here now.

This is of course all about bribes. Anyone who has dealt with officials in an African country knows that any of them would cheerfully barbeque the child alive if it would mean a little more money in someone's pocket.

the only people who seem to have gotten some money are the hotel staff, security guards, kabbalah staff, etc in malawi, and the 3-year-old she's already got, got some nice clothes out of it.

Just because Madonna has money, it doesn't mean Mercy will be happy in America. If she grows up in America, she will have new problems to complain about such as racism, no mommy time with Madonna., growing up with different nannies, having no privacy due to being paraded by Madonna in public. In Malawi, orphanage is like a boarding school. If your relatives have no money to take care of you. You get 3 square meals and schooling in orphanage at least.

If she really cared for this child she would have stayed. REGULAR families that are sincere in their attempt to adopt a child will spend weeks if not months in a country their effort to get that child. Voice of experience!!!

Angelina DID follow the rules of the Countries that she adopted fro, SO get your facts straight. Malawi is protecting their children from child traffickers not Madonna. If Madonna really wants this child perhaps even a little longer stay than a few days would help. But once you make an exception you open the door to evile people who will use Madonna's adoption to obtain children for bad reasons. It happened with David and the government does not want it to happen again.

Cannot help but wonder if this kid will be ok, now that she's been denied adoption. OK madonna is probably crazy BUT the little girl could have a chance with her... now in a orphanage in a 3rd world country.... I live in a 3rd world country, people, it gets pretty rough out there specially if you dont have a family.

Wake up. This is not Madonna's child.The country has decided that they are not Sams discount store where you jet in and buy their kids in bulk. What if you are I wanted a Malowi kid. It would be the same rules. No is also an answer. If they thought she'd be good for the kid then they would have given it to her. Maybe Madonna should have worked on her behavior and if Guy goes soft and takes her back just because she's messed up her life he's as crazy as Jennifer Anuston for taking back the Mayor guy.

You know, I think its great that she wants to give a child a better life but, she already had so much trouble with David's adoption why would she go back to the same place? I'm sure she doesn't want to be compared to Angelina but She could have looked somewhere else to find a child. Its crazy for her to think that because she is famous that the rules don't apply to her. I'm sure it was a wake up call. It is sad, Mercy could have had an amazing life with her.

I'm not a Madonna fan, but I think that it is cruel and stupid that she wasn;t allowed to adopt the little girl. She would have been so much better off!

I hope she fights the system in place in Malawi. Its not about Madonna, its about the lives of children. Any child regardless of its origin is worthy. I hope she gets that child out. Madonna would have given the child millions of others could not have ever dreamed of.
